Bahay Cabalen
In the near future I see myself as a good accountant and a successful businesswoman. It is my dream to
be someone who is able to live in her dreams and continue to prosper in it. If were to put up a business in the
near future, I would definitely establish a restaurant that serves Kapampangan dishes and delicacies.
Kapampangans are known for being one of the best cooks in the Philippines. They are known for being creative
in terms of innovating foods and beverages. Putting up a business of foods related to Kapampangan cuisine
would create an impact to the public and would like to give it a try. In my prospective location, which is Nueva
Ecija, Kapampangan foods are not that well known and new to the taste buds of Novo Ecijanos. Since my
mother is a Kapampangan, she is my idol and outstanding when it comes to cooking. She taught me several
dishes that are unique in Pampanga. One of her specialties that she taught me is the Kapampangan dish Kilain.
Kilain is made from lungs of a pig sautéed with soy sauce. This viand is new to the taste buds of the Novo
Ecijanos. They would be intrigued to the foods served by my restaurant that is why it would be visited by many
people. As an innovation to the Kapampangan delicacies, a fusion of the Nueva Ecija cuisine is added to the
food which will give it a different taste. I would love to create different recipes which will be new for the public
and will create an impact on their taste buds.
As for the over-all ambiance of the restaurant, I would like the restaurant to have the vibe of the traditional
Filipino house which is ‘bahay kubo’. The bahay kubo ambiance of my restaurant w ould be given a touch of
modern design. This will give a different ambiance and the customers would be comfortable while enjoying
their meal in my restaurant. Yellow lights would be added which will make the place a lot cozier. The place is
also suited for families which are seeking fo the homey vibe of the restaurant. My restaurant will serve different
unique dishes with a good ambiance which will make our customers like our services. Since our place depicts a
vibe of a bahay kubo, our customers would feel a lot closer to the nature because of the fresh air entering the
restaurant.
My restaurant would be named ‘Bahay Cabalen’ because ‘cabalen’ represent the kapampangans. This
would be a home to the great foods which you can never find to other restaurants. This will be the starting point
of greater relationships of the families in the future. This will be the restaurant which will embark to the hearts
and minds of the Filipinos.
