IELTS Speaking Part 2 – Describe your favorite weather

You should say:

– What kind of weather it is

– What you usually do during this weather
– How this weather affects your mood
– And explain why you like this type of weather

When it comes to my perennial favorite weather, I would say without any

hesitation that it’s cold weather. It usually falls from mid-October to December.
It’s my all-time awaited season. For one thing, you know I’m much of a hot-
blooded animal, so in the summertime, I get sweat quite easily. Even worse, in
the dog days of summer, I could sweat buckets, get dehydrated. Especially for a
girl like me, it does matter. Because the scorching heat makes my body so
smelly that I have to take a bath 2 times a day. It's kinds of time-consuming.
And let me tell you, Vietnam is a tropical country. So the over-40-degree-celsius
heatwaves are not rare. I don’t have many choices to wear the clothes I want
apart from breathable and comfortable ones such as T-shirts, shorts, sandals, etc.
On the other hand, winter climate enables me to layer up, I can mix and match a
lot of accessories to make myself more stylish. Moreover, I love tucking up in a
cozy blanket, watching a romantic Korean movie with my sister, or drinking a
cup of honey tea in the morning. Just the thought of it already makes me feel so
serene and pleasant.
Some people considered that wintry days are too dull and tedious which
effortlessly drags them down. That being said, I’m more productive in a cold
climate. As I’m not an outdoorsy type. I like to stay home and enjoy my
solitude, cuddle my beloved stuffed toy, work in the best condition. More
importantly, I don’t have to do the laundry much. Although cold weather can
bother me sometimes as it can cause nasal congestion I’m also susceptible to
minor ailments, it’s still the go-to season to me. Not to mention that I wish to
behold a sight of snowfall once in a lifetime. I guess, when I grow up and have a
good financial condition, I’ll definitely travel to Nordic countries to make my
dream come true.
