On the entire module, I
found the exact meaning of
it and it said that Human
rights are freedoms
established by custom or
international agreement that
impose standards of conduct
on all nations. Human rights
are distinct from civil
liberties, which are freedoms
established by the law of a
particular state and applied
by that state in its own
jurisdiction. Human rights,
according to the Stanford
Encyclopedia of Philosophy,
refers to norms that aim to
protect people from
political, legal, and social
abuses. The United Nations
(UN) defines human rights as
universal and inalienable,
interdependent and
indivisible, and equal and
non-discriminatory.
I learned about the different
classifications of Human
rights and distinguishes two
categories namely classic
and political, and social
rights. The main difference is
that the classic rights entail
an obligation for the state to
refrain from certain actions,
while social rights oblige it to
provide certain guarantees.
There are seven principles of
human rights (inherent,
fundamental, inalienable,
imprescriptible, indivisible,
universal, interdependent).
I learned about the BILL OF
RIGHTS sections 1-22. To
sum it up, those right is so
important, because it
protects our rights to
speech, press, petition,
religion, and assembly. The
purpose is to protect those
rights against infringement
from public officials and
private citizens. Bills of rights
may be entrenched or
ingrained.
