Ans:

Free transform tool is used to rotate an object.

To move an object from one position to another:

 Select the object and click the Free Transform tool.


 Position the pointer over the object such that the pointer changes to a cross.
 Drag the object to a new position with the left mouse button pressed.

e. How can you scale an object in a single direction?

Ans:

To scale an object in a single direction, select the object and click the Free Transform
tool. Drag one of the side handles in the desired direction.

Ans:

Ans:

To group the outline and the fill of an object:

 Using the Arrow tool, select both the outline and the fill.
 Select Modify  Group.

h. In Flash software, why is it important to be able to change text into basic shapes?

Ans:

The reason is that by converting them to basic shapes they can be manipulated more easily. This
means it makes it easier to add colour to them, alter the way they look to add the effects that you would
want in an animation.

i. Flash provides the user with the ability to work with colours in a number of different
ways. Based on what you have learned, evaluate the use of different colour options in
Flash and their importance.

Ans:

Flash is essentially a software which is used for animations and it is because of this fact that it
relies heavily on the visual aspect. This is why it needs to be able to give gradients or fill colour into
different shapes.

Ans:

The tool we use used to change the shape of the characters of this word is Selection tool.

b. Alvina has written her favorite quotation in a Flash document. She wants to give some
animation effects to the text.

i. What are built-in animation effects in Flash called?

Ans:
The built-in animation effects in Flash called Timeline effects.

ii. Name the menu and the option that will be selected to give these animation effects.

Ans:
The Insert menu and the Timeline Effects option are selected to give these animation
effects.

iii. Name any two animation effects.

Ans:

c. Umaima has drawn a circle with a red outline and a yellow fill on the Stage in Flash. When
she tries to move this circle to another position, she is able to move only the outline.

i. Can you explain why she is not able to move the whole object?

Ans:

When we draw an object in Flash it creates two objects corresponding to it: the outline
and the fill. To move the object to a new position, we need to select both the fill and the outline.
If we do not select both, only the selected part will move. Umaima is selecting only the outline,
and so she is not able to move the whole object.

ii. How can this problem be solved?

Ans:

This problem can be solved by grouping the two objects together.

iii. Write the steps that will be required as a solution to this problem.

Ans:

To group the outline and the fill of an object:

 Using the Arrow tool, select both the outline and the fill.
 Select Modify  Group.

d. Shehla has collected pictures of butterflies. She now wants to use these pictures in a Flash
movie.

i. Name the menu and the option she will use for this purpose.

Ans:
The File menu and the Import option.

ii. Which tool will you use to change the size of these pictures?

Ans:
The tool we use to change the size of these pictures is Free Transform tool.

iii. Can you rotate these pictures? List the steps.

Ans:
To rotate an object:

 Select the object and click the Free Transform tool.


 Now position the pointer over one of the four corner handles of the object.
 When the pointer changes to a curved arrow, click and drag to rotate the object.
