IDENTIFY CONCERNS
Many people use food items, but they do not fully understand what exactly goes into their food products.
With our video we teach our audience about exactly what is being put into the food they consume and how
to prepare. There are many teenagers in our community, who have to take care of themselves and we
decided to provide our peers with a simple way they can take the food they are eating to a whole new level.
Some teenagers take the care their guardians provide for them for granted, but with our video we make it
clear that taking care of yourself will give you a brand-new sense of independence and the ability to provide
for yourself.

SET A GOAL
We would like to raise teenager’s awareness on how important it is to be able to create their own food and
in the end be able to take care of themselves. By doing this, we encourage others to learn how to create
their own food and, in the end, figure out how to provide for themselves.

FORM A PLAN (WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, HOW, COST, RESOURCES, AND EVALUATION)
WHO: Within the video, there will be glimpses of our team. Lauren, Tyler and Ashton will be involved at
some point of the video. We will also be receiving assistance from our team sponsor in creating the different
aspects of our video.

WHAT: The filming part of our actual video will be done in 4 sections. The first 3 sections will be a clear
detailed instruction on how to make the different aspects of a PB&J sandwich. Starting with the bread, then
jelly and lastly the peanut butter. The final section of the video will be assembling the sandwich and our
ending of the video.

WHEN: The video will be filmed on Saturday, January 22 nd 2022. The editing of the video will take place after
the recording of the different clips.

WHERE: The different sections of our video will be filmed in the classroom kitchen at Seaman High School

HOW: We will be following instructions for the different aspects of the PB&J sandwich and will film the
different instructions and sections.

COST: Most of the supplies that are needed for the PB&J, we already have. The rest of the supplies that are
needed will only cost us around 10 dollars to put together.
RESOURCES: The resources we will need to create our video will be the ingredients for the PB&J, supplies
needed to create the sandwich, a video camera to record, and the facility that is being provided for us to use
by our school.

EVALUATION: Following the completion of our instructional video, we wanted to receive feedback from our
peers for additional feedback. We displayed our video to some of our chapter members and advisor who
gave us a great amount of feedback. After we received their feedback, we went back into the editing portion
of the video creation and fixed a few things.

ACT
To reach our goal we had a numerous of different tasks we needed to accomplish before our goal would be
met. We started this project off with looking at the rubric to figure out what we could do our instructional
video on. Then, we had to figure out a way that would be fun for our audience and intriguing. By
incorporating the “Peanut Butter Jelly Time” song, we allow for ourselves to incorporate an entertaining
aspect in our video. Following this, we searched through the internet and family recipes to find some
different recipes we could potentially use. After searching for recipes, we decided on the three we liked the
most for the Peanut Butter, Jelly, and Bread. To fully plan out our video, our team used the Instructional
Video Design Worksheet, which we found to be extremely helpful with planning our video. Our chapter
decided on a Saturday for everyone to meet up at the school to work on our star events. On this day, we
received the guidance we needed by our peers and sponsor on how to go about creating the different
aspects of the PB&J. We spent the time period working on the different aspects of the sandwich until we had
a full sandwich. Yes, our video was explaining and instructing how to make something, but there was also a
bigger picture we incorporated at the end which was our main goal. After completing the video, we
explained how important it is to be able to provide for yourself. Our audience not only received the
importance of taking care of themselves, but also a fun way to make something from scratch for themselves.
FOLLOW UP
After completing all of the editing for our video, we proceeded to display our finished product to a variety of
different people. Different people from our classes and all of the different grades at our school to get a wide
spectrum of different people. Following up with the students after they watched the video, we proceeded to
ask a few questions about what they learned. Everyone that we asked all learned something new that they
did not know before the viewing of our video. Succeeding this portion of our project, we realized that we
had reached our intended goal. Since the students who watched our instructional video, they not only now
know how to make a PB&J sandwich, but also understand the importance of taking care of themselves.
