Introduction – Information Technology

Information Technology (IT) is defined as the design, development, implementation &
management of computer based information systems, particularly software application and
computer hardware.

Information Technology (IT) industry in India has got a tremendous boost due to globalization
of Indian economy. The demand of the services provided by this industry has created a large
number of fast growing and high paying IT jobs.

A survey shows that employees working in IT industry are prone to develop a lot of health
problems due to continuous physical and mental stress of their work.

WHAT IS AN HEALTHY WORKSPACE?

An healthy workplace is somewhere that promotes good work habits, provides
comfort through out the day and encourages productivity.
On an average a person spends almost 8-10 hours a day in their offices. Offices
are like second homes to them, so “HOW DO WE MAKE SUCH ENVIRONMENT MORE
COMFORTABLE?”

Aim:
To design an IT park with a Psychosocial and health related perspective on an
emerging working environment.

Objective:
To study and analyse the various functions of IT -office space and to design
accordingly.
To design a workspace that leads to less stressful and more productive environment.
To focus on green footprints.
To incorporate natural light source.

Scope:
This study covers the psychology behind modern office design and workforce well
being.
