We are pleased to announce the release of Safeti/Phast 8.0 which is packed with new modelling and
features
New dispersion model - The new version includes a new dispersion model that addresses all the key
limitations in the old model. The benefit to the user is more accurate cloud predictions.
Support for buried pipeline modelling - A new model has been introduced that allows users to model
releases from buried pipelines and their associated impacts. This is new to version 8 and offers new
analytical capabilities.
A New Time Varying Discharge Model - for more accurate modelling of time varying
releases.
New Time Varying Fireball - More realistic modelling of the true nature of a fireball is
captured with this model.
New Atmospheric Post-Expansion model - Better predictions of the initial physical
parameters following a release.
New Instantaneous Expansion model – Improved handling on instantaneous releases,
especially droplet trajectory and rainout for better predictions.
Reintroduction of Warehouse model – this reintroduces the warehouse model (currently
only available in version 6.7) to the new platform.
Improved accuracy and speed of the Risk Calculations – Getting results quicker means
more time to assess results.
