1.0 INTRODUCTION

1.1 HISTORY

FashionValet is the go-to gateway for the modest fashion field that founded in
November 2010. Within one brand, FashionValet organizes the best range of beauty and
fashion brands that links it to global customers as their clothing are high-quality fashion at
affordable prices. For over 10 year, FashionValet has established its brand with a broad social
media following, becoming a hub for many modest fashion brands as well as creating their
own line-up of house brands.

Having a vision of trendy modest fashion with its unique collaborations with designers
and celebrities, FashionValet is also seen as the leader in the industry. For almost every day,
FashionValet released their new arrivals which keeps the web fresh and still on trend. The
FashionValet Company launched as an e-commerce brand only, but today they had opened
10 retail stores and counting in aiming to become the leading omni-channel network through
its continuous advancements and improvements in technology.

As the chief creative officer and a co-founder of FashionValet, Vivy Sofinas Yusof
struggles with the sourcing, merchandising and creative marketing side of the business, while
Fadzarudin Shah Anuar, as the chief executive officer, he manages the day-to-day activities
and finance. Both of them had proved to be a really great partnership in expanding the
company from only three people in 2010 to having 150 employees today, with the company
carrying 500 labels that are obtains to customers worldwide.

Vivy and Fadzarudin met in London while they were students, Vivy was a law graduate
from the London School of Economics and Fadzarudin an engineering graduate from Imperial
College London, and shared a fascination towards online shopping. When they returned home
to Malaysia, both of them realized that they missed the ease of online shopping as they
enjoyed back in the United Kingdom. Both husband and wife married since 2012 has found
that they had to drive everywhere in Kuala Lumpur just to find their favourite designer brands.
As they were driving in the rain, the sparks of idea for FashionValet appeared when they found
themselves disappointed that they were unable to get all their favourite brands under one roof.

Even though FashionValet is now a successful multi-million dollar business, however,


there have been some major challenges that needed some changes in the way the company
was operated. When FashionValet began, Fadzarudin spoke about how the company had no
competition and as a result, the team became grew until come competence from the United
States and Europe eventually arrived.

To fight their way back into the game, the couple agreed that rather than taking on any
brand that came in their way, they would drop the cheaper brands and start concentrating on
high-quality brands while keeping their core goal “raising local brands to international status”.
If FashionValet was up to strive for something, it was definitively focused on taking the best of
it as Malaysian fashion to the global.

As FashionValet business expanded, the trust by consumer has increased as buyers


bought into the company are ideals of innovation, authenticity and encouragement for home-
grown talent, backed by investors both at home and abroad.

1.2 COMPANY PRODUCTS

FashionValet is all well known as the most famous online shopping platforms in
Malaysia with goal of getting the new fashion to the doorsteps of its customers simply and
conventiently. This company has more 150 selescted brands, including top Malaysian home-
grown brands, are proudly featured by FashionValet today. It also offers exclusive items from
the FashionValet partnership and chosen brands of high-quality Malaysian goods that is now
hassle-free.

FashionValet provides a wide variety of items for women and kids. FashionValet has
it all from ready -to-wear dresses, shoes, luggage, vast makeup kits, hijabs like shawls, to
fashion products and gadget accessories. Also available for baby such as clothes and baby
sets for both boys and girls. All these goods can be shipped worldwide with all deliveries being
free of charge within Malaysia with minimum order requirements.

For clothing, FashionValet offers starting from activewear such as sport shirt, sport
tights and leggings, swimsuits and sport hijabs. For outwear, they also provide blazers,
cardigans, jackets, vests and sweaters. Also, has various kinds of pants and leggings for
outing same goes to skirts and tops that provide in casual style. Other than that, the company
also sells prayer wear, maternity and nursing clothes and jumpsuits. Not to forget FashionValet
provide various kinds of scarves for every hijabis such as pleated shawls, square scarves,
basic shawls, inner and it goes with some accessories for shawls.

FashionValet also provide four types of shoes for woman, flats and sandals, heels, slip
ons and wedges. Not to mention that this company has accessories too, such as, jewellery
like necklaces, bracelets and bangles, rings, earrings and brooches and button. While for
travel and lifestyles they provide floats and prayer mat too. For beauty category, they sale
some bath and body care, hair and nails care, skincare and also makeup such as, for eyes,
lipsticks, blushes and bronzers, compacts and loose powders, concealers, foundations,
makeup remover and also other makeup tools.

Other than that, FashionValet also provide bags such as bag organizers, backpacks,
bucket bag, crossbody, clutches, mini and shoulder bags, purses and cardholders, and tote
bags. However, they do provide some traditional wear such as jubah, kaftans, kebayas and
kurungs. With all these products, customer can buy it from their official websites and their
closes retail stores.

1.3 BRANDING OF THE COMPANY

FashionValet was the idea from both of the couples because they wanted to provide a
fashion company that has various type of brands in one roof, such as Adriana Yariqa, aera,
AINAHARIZ, Alia B., Bingka KL, Cala Qisya, dUCk, Jovian, Kami Idea and many more, so that
everyone can shop for their favourite brand from one specific place. Every customer who likely
to make a purchase, they can proceed to the website https://www.fashionvalet.com/ and the
company also utilizes social media such as Instagram, Facebook and Youtube to boost their
product to everyone around the world.

Behind this brand is a creative, dedicated and talented team that has worked together
and in the same time having loads of fun that could motivate each of them to be succeed. The
company mission is to elevate the local fashion scene to an international stage and while for
their vision, it is to grow FashionValet into a multi-million dollar company that champions local
designers in Asia.

Besides, FashionValet also making a fund-raising initiatives to healthcare system that


needs help since our country by that time was in a pandemic Covid-19, so the company
provide for Covid-19 support fund that has been established on 17 March 2020 in partnership
with IMAM Response and Relief Team (IMARET). Also they collect fund for PPE Fundrising
as most of hospitals running low on personal protective equipment (PPE) suits.

2.0 SOCIAL MEDIA PRESENCE OVERVIEW

2.1 INSTAGRAM

This company’s official Instagram account username is ‘fashionvaletcom’ that has


been verified by the Instagram for having 738k followers along with only 13 following Instagram
account by them. Since the day they have joined the Instagram, they have make 17,396
posting and they also put the website link in their account bio, so that everyone who wanted
to make a purchase can just click on it from Instagram. The posting that has been made by
this company is basically daily and sometimes they upload multiple photos about their new
arrivals or any promotions in a single day. Most of the posting in this social media are photos
and not much of videos. Customer can make their interaction by following the Instagram
account to get notified with what’s coming out soon, therefore, customers can direct message
them or commenting on their post.

2.2 FACEBOOK
As for Facebook, the company use a name of ‘FashionValet.com’ to represent their
company with 266,956 people who followed this account follow up with 265,871 people who
likes their Facebook page. The frequent of posting in this Facebook page is the same as in
Instagram where they making a posting daily for multiple time in a day, so in this page they
have provide a website link for the customers to directly click on it for purchase. Customers
can slide into their personal messages or by commenting on their posting to make an
interactions towards the company.

2.3 YOUTUBE

FashionValet has their own official YouTube account where we can see it has 6.26k
subscribers with their account name as ‘FashionValet’ since 21 May 2011. In 2020 now, this
YouTube account has uploaded 102 videos with total of 4,089,485 viewers and in the same
time it has 2 channels which are Vivy Yusof and The dUCk Group. FashionValet uploads their
videos only few in a month and some of the videos that are uploaded are inspirations videos,
talks, tutorials videos, shopping hauls, fun videos and promotional videos. People can interact
with the company by commenting in the comment section of YouTube.

3.0 ANALYSIS AND EVOLUTION

3.1 THE USE OF EACH SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM

I. INSTAGRAM

The most frequently used by this company is Instagram because most people are likely
to use Instagram for new updates and it has a lot of happening activities in this social media,
where they often posting some new products by FashionValet to let everyone knows about
the new upcoming from the company. From here, the company posted about their product in
their IG story, to let anyone can briefly click on it and see what’s new. In this platform, they
posted photos and videos daily with their new update on IGTV are more about promotions,
tutorials, tips and talks. The interactions with customers are appropriately to proceed.

II. FACEBOOK

As this social media went to the second frequently use, this platform are more likely
for just promoting and making announcement about the new products or any promotion by the
company. The posting are the same as Instagram, making multiple posting daily with photos
and videos. In this platform they also posted some short videos from YouTube to make it more
interesting while people visiting its page.

III. YOUTUBE

YouTube is the least been used social media by the company because they only
upload the videos only few in a month. In this platform we can watch their videos about the
growth of FashionValet through their inspiration talk and in this platform too people can watch
all the fun stuff they did together in the company to stay motivated along with some tips and
tutorial by them. The interaction from this is appropriate enough.

3.2 THE USE OF SOCIAL MEDIA (WHOLE)

Overall of the social media that been used by the company, they gives a positive vibes
through their posting as we can understand what are they trying to say about their products
and brands that collaborates in FashionValet. From their social media we could see their
upcoming promotions and some good product passing by in our feeds. This company is
frequently using Instagram and Facebook for their daily posting of photos and videos and they
also making most interaction through Instagram and Facebook. While for YouTube they mostly
used it for uploading some tutorials, tips videos, talks, and some fun activities that has been
done by them.

3.3 DIGITAL FOOTPRINT

Based on running the basic search of FashionValet on Google, we can see that the
search of the company name shows it has about 573,000 results with the official FashionValet
website named ‘FashionValet’. From here, it shows the product that been provide by the
company same goes with their outlet locations along with their contact information. The ratings
that has been given to the company are mostly satisfied with the product and services that
been given by FashionValet to their customers. From this search too, they also show the link
to the company social media directly along with their jobstreet to let anyone who wants a job,
they can apply it trough the link provided. Overall, the content based on the company has a
positive feedback by the customers.

4.0 COMMENDATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

4.1 COMMENDATION
Based on social media analysis, FashionValet received a lot of positive feedback by
the customers to help in making the company to be better in the future later, so that the
company can create a good image that could gain the customers trust even more. The
company did a great job in handling the all the platforms that been used by them in order to
make the customers satisfied with the products that they provided and same goes the
interaction by the company through their platforms and website.

Therefore, the company website is in a very well order with all the information that
been given in the website to make sure that every customers will received the same thing, so
that they will not having misinformation from other places. The website they provide is simple
and easy for the customer to make a purchase starting from making a new account until
payment with varieties of method has been layout perfectly. The products in here are shown
perfectly enough to make customers looking at it clearly without any mist.

Meanwhile for the platforms such Instagram and Facebook, the company making
updates daily by posting their photos or videos more than once in a day. It is a best way to
make people who sees it can integrate them to visit their account page to see more of the
products. Same goes to YouTube, it has all kinds of videos that been uploaded in it to make
people to keep on follow up with what’s new and to make new knowledge about the company
by watching their tutorials, tips, talks and so on. Overall the platforms that been used by the
company are well managed and it brings ease to the company too by the positive feedback
given by customers.

4.2 RECOMMENDATION

Even though FashionValet is the most famous and known well by people around the
world, they should use their social media platforms to the fullest, so that the more they promote
about their company, the more people will keep on track and interested to buy their products.
Other than that, they should make a new updates in such a new ways to let customers be
more connected with the company to see some new products by them.

Besides, with the used of the platforms, it could be easy for the company to keep on
track to see what customer love to buy from their brands and here they can make some
activities such as giveaway contest in Instagram and Facebook to people who are ought to
buy FashionValet’s product but lack of budget; this could help people like the company even
more.

Here, YouTube also can make a video by inviting their lucky customers to spend their
time together with Vivy Yusof of talking about the products or some tea time together. This
could make people be more confidence to stay interact with FashionValet and it could enhance
more creativity among others.

4.3 IMPROVEMENT ON DIGITAL FOOTPRINT

FashionValet’s digital footprint result that been shown by Google is in a good results
where it has every link to connect directly to the platforms they used. For this digital footprint,
it can be improve more in making some new updates such as making advertisement through
GoogleAds, so every customers could see the advertisement anywhere while they are making
some searching in other site.

Other than that, the company should open a google business to create an easy access
for the customers to stay communicate with the company by getting the listing of businesses
profile across the Google search and maps. Besides, FashionValet already got their own blog
and application in the app store so, it can be added along, so everyone can connect to it faster
without making another research again.
