Bernoulli’s Principle Simulation

Student’s name: no name Section:

Instructions:

1. Click on the link and find the Bernoulli’s Principle simulation.

Fluid Dynamics and the Bernoulli Equation – GeoGebra
2. Run the simulation and write 8 observations about it.
1. In this simulation, we can adjust basic things, like for example the height,
pressure, velocity, and radius of the pipe for the fluid flowing in the left side of
the pipe. We can repeat the same procedure in the right side of the pipe.
2. Now, for this time, the velocity and the pressure that we found in the right side
of the pipe can be calculated using the Bernoulli equation.
3. when we move the h1 button the first part of the pipe changes height
4. when we move the h2 button the second part of the pipe changes height
5. when we move the r1 button the radius of the first part of the pipe changes
6. when we move the r2 button the radius of the second part of the pipe changes
7. when we move the button v1, pressure 2 and the velocity 2 increase or
decrease
8. when we change the amount of p1 then the pressure in the second part of the
pipe change
3. Once you have your observations, write 2conclusions about your observations on
the simulation.
1. The slower the rate of flow, the higher the pressure, and the faster the rate of flow,
the lower the pressure.
2. When the height is greater, the pressure increases. When you increase the height
of the second pipe, the pressure decreases.

You can work in pairs, but you must submit your classwork individually.
