SUCCESS
SUCCESS
I. Read the following quotes. Do you agree with them? Why/why not? Now try to
say them with your own words (paraphrasing).
“Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it.” (Henry David
Thoreau, American philosopher)
“You always pass failure on the way to success.” (Mickey Rooney, American
comedian)
II. Reading. Let us read the article How to be a winner on page 8 of the textbook.
Before reading answer
1. According to the writer´s opinion how important is talent for achieving
success?
According to the author, success is related to talent since each one, despite having some
kind of personal, health or mental problem, had talent and were good at the activities they
carried out and thanks to them they achieved all their success.
I consider that the main keys to success are discipline, talent, the desire to get ahead and
self-confidence. Nothing is easy and we must be restrictions and fight for what we really
want. sometimes we have luck or perhaps fate rewards us but usually we achieve success
on our own merits.
