DAVID Is the younger brother of CRAIG

SCENE 1: INT. HOUSE – NIGHT

(Narrator, Mother)

SOUND: FIRE CRACKING

MUSIC: QUITE AND UNSETTLING

MOTHER:
like I said never go near that forest nothing good will ever come from it.
Narrator:
That was 3 years ago I must of been 13 back then but of course as we grew older we just
assumed these were just stories we were told as kids to stop us wondering off and how were we
to know any different.

SCENE 2: EXT. FIELD - NOON

CRAIG:
(Shouting)
Boba, where you at you little rat.

NARRATOR:
Boba was our dog

CRAIG:
it’s so strange he's never ran away before

DAVID:
yeah well I told you before you left the house you should have put him on a lead but you never
listen to me

CRAIG:
I’m sorry I just didn’t think I needed one since he’s never even tried to run away before plus we
weren’t going far

DAVID:
Either way its getting late and mum doesn’t like it when we stay out in the dark especially this
close to the forest because you know (mocking)"don’t venture to far into the woods in the night
less you want to be taken from the spiretual plane" and all.
 CRAIG:
yeah well, I don’t really need your help anyway how about you go back up now I wanna keep
looking for a bit longer

DAVID:
welp you dont have to ask me twice just make sure you come home before mum starts to worry

CRAIG:
Yeah yeah no worries

SOUND: WALKING AWAY

CRAIG:
Now where is this mut hiding

CRAIG:
(Shouting)
Boba

SOUND: BARKING

MUSIC: SPOOKY AND FORBODDING

CRAIG:
(Nervous)
that you boba? where are you?

CRAIG:
Dont tell me you actually went into the, god dammit

SOUND: WALKING

NARRATOR:
And thats the last i ever saw of my younger brother, it took us a while to realise he wasnt coming
back when we did mum called the police to issue a search but they came up with nothing. I often
find mum looking out of the window towards the forest like he will just come woundering out
one day like he never left.

SCENE 3: INT. HOUSE – NIGHT

SOUND: CLOTHES RUSSLING AND WALKING

DAVID:
Where are you going?
 MOTHER:
Im going out for a bit

DAVID:
Your going to look for him arent you, if the police cant find him
why do u think you will and arent you the person who told us to
never go near the forest at night.

MOTHER:
Listen here your just a child what would you know and who do you
think you are telling me what to do.

SOUND: DOOR SLAMS

SCENE 4: EXT. FIELD - NIGHT

SOUND: OWLS

MOTHER:
(Shouting)
Craig, Criag Where are you please come home

SOUND: OWLS AND WILDLIFE GO QUITE

MUSIC: SPOOKY

FC (FAKE CRAIG)
(Distressed)
Mum, mum is that you where are you i cant see i think i hurt my leg.

FATHER:
Dont worry im coming for you just keep talking.

FC:
Im right here i can see you

MOTHER:
where i cant see its too dark

FC:
Im right here (distorted)

SCENE 5: INT. FORREST - EVENING

NARRATOR:
 And just like that I was all alone, I didn’t bother calling anyone this time somehow I was sure
even if there was a search nothing would come up I didn’t have any other family outside this
little cabin we were surrounded by a Forrest too far from any town or city to go to school or
anything so it’s not like I had any friends that would check up on me either so endless I said
anything nobody would even notice we were gone I became a ghost.

I sat outside on the field looking towards the forest just like mum hoping to see them come out
and I waited and waited. I decided to go into the Forrest and look for myself as what did I have
to lose.

SOUND: WALKING THROUGH LEAVES

SOUND: ANIMALS

DAVID:
damn how long have I been walking now is this Forrest endless.

NARRATOR:
I found myself at a strange cabin in the woods and it was getting dark something told me I didn’t
wanna be outside when that happened.

DAVID:
well it’s not the most pristine of hotels but it will make do.

SOUND: MAKING BED SOUNDS

DAVID:
I’m sure this will work ill just bunker down and continue looking tomorrow.

NARRATOR:
I didn’t manage to sleep that night I know I sounded calm but I wasn’t even sure if my brother
and mother were still alive and I also know it seems weird I would just stop looking them being
my family but maybe I just didn’t want to know the truth that was in the back of my head.

SOUND: LOUD HEAVY FOOTSTEPS

DAVID:
What the fuck is that.

SOUND: ANIMAL SOUNDS STOP

SOUND: KNOCKING ON DOOR

FM(FAKE MOTHER):
David let me in Craig is hurt
 DAVID:
Mum is that you?

FC:
Brother can you please open the door its cold out here.

DAVID:
(suspicious)
you know this is the first time you have ever called me brother.

FC:
Stop messing around let me in (shouting and distorted)

DAVID:
idk who or what you are but you’re not my family what have you done to them

SOUND: SHACKING THE DOOR AGGRESIVELY

NARRATOR:
Whatever was outside started shouting and smashing itself against the door and the angrier it got
the less it sounded remotely human I hid in the corner of the room and hide my head between my
legs.

FC:
don’t you care about us let us in let me in let me in.

NARRATOR:
then I saw a light flash through the window and i heard shouting from far away it was the search
party that was sent after my brother.

DAVID:
(shouting)
help in here help.

SOUND: GUN SHOTS

SOUND: MONSTER SCREAMING

NARRATOR:
When it all went down my fight or flight responses activated and I ran away using the search
party as cover leaving them to die I’m not too sure what happened or how I made it back to the
cabin I don’t even know what happened to the search party I just kept running and running.
