Mrs. Tan was driving her car when her handphone rang. She answered the call and
continued to drive. She was too absorbed talking on the phone that she did not realise the
traffic light was red. She continued to drive when she noticed a traffic police was signalling
her to stop the car.
Mrs Tan instantly put down her handphone and stopped her car by the roadside. The
traffic police walked towards her and told her that she had broken the road safety rules.
She admitted her mistakes and apologized to the police. However, the traffic police gave
her two summon tickets, for talking on the phone while driving and running over a red light.

Ida and her elder sister, Aida, went to watch a movie at the cinema. When they arrived,
the lineat the ticket counter was long. After buying the tickets, they went straight to their
cinema hall.
They went to their seats but were surprised to see there were people sitting there. Aida
told one of them that they were sitting at their seats. The lady then showed her tickets. It
stated the same seat number as the girls’. Aida showed her tickets , and then the lady
pointed out the cinema hall.
The girls had gone into the wrong hall. Aida quickly apologized to the lady. The girls then
went to the correct cinema hall.

One afternoon, Jenny woke up late for school. She quickly brushed her teeth and bathed.
Then she ironed her school uniform. While ironing she remembered that she had Physical
Education that day. She had to bring her T-shirt and track bottoms. She searched for them in
her cupboard.
Suddenly she smelled something burning. She realised that she had left the hot iron on
her shirt. It was burnt and had a small hole on it. The shirt was ruined.
Luckily the hole was small and could be covered by her pinafore. However, she learned
her lesson; she should not do things at the last minute.

Samuel was on his way home from the library. As he walked, he played games on his
handphone. Hie eyes were on the screen phone instead of on the road.
He reached a junction and had to cross the road. He looked to his left and right to make
sure there were no vehicles. Then he crossed the road while his eyes were on his phone.
A car suddenly appeared and the driver honked at him. Samuel was too stunned to move.
The driver went out of his car to check on him. Samuel told himself to be more alert and not
to play games on his handphone while on the streets.
5.
One day, Priya was walking home from school. Suddenly, she saw a motorcycle knocked
over a girl and then sped off. The girl fell into a puddle by the roadside. Her uniform was
wet and covered with mud.
Priya rushed to help the girl. She found out that the girl’s knee was injured, so she helped
her to stand. Priya decided to walk the girl home.
The girl’s mother was shocked to see her daughter. Priya told her what had happened.
The mother thanked Priya for her help.
