INTRODUCTION

Nowadays, along with the development of technology, our daily life is easier with the
help of many electronic devices such as smart phones, laptops, smart watches, and many
other electronic devices. As we know, these electronic devices need electrical power to
operate. Since most of the devices use battery to store the power so that the devices could
turn on and perform the task, therefore the battery need to be charge when it is low on power.
This project is about developing a smart and efficient multifunctional charger that could save
power by using renewable energy such as solar energy.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

These days, many people love to travel. As a traveler, electronic devices such as smart
phone is such an important item to have in your list. But when it is time to charge your
phone, sometimes it is hard for you to find places that have socket plug for you to charge
your phone. Some places even charge you money per hour for using the socket plug. In some
circumstances such as in emergency when you really need to use the phone, it is hard for you
if the batteries dies and you did not have any backup power. Traveler also faced the problem
of having not enough spaces in their luggage as they need to carry many items for their
electronic devices such as chargers and multiple powerbank as their backup power when on
travel trip.

Having multiple electronic devices in your home could increase the cost of your
electricity bill. It is because you need to you use it daily and charge it frequently.

Have you ever had a problem with damage to your electronic devices’ chargers? It is
quite annoying as you need to buy the charger again and again when it is broken. It is also
cost a lot of money as the charger for some electronic devices are quite pricey.

OBJECTIVES

In whatever thing is to be done and that has been planned, it has its own objectives.
The objective of this project is making this world better by using renewed energy source

 Proposal was wanted to make a gadget that used renewed energy source rather than
thermal power energy(electricity), to reduce air pollution from coal burning. By creating very
useful gadget that change our electricity consumption towards electricity .This is also
intended to save money and electric bill.

It is hoped that the creation of the smart gadget as planned will succeed in becoming
the backbone in providing the world to be less pollute in the next year.

THE NEW ENGINEERING PRODUCT

The engineering product is Portable Smart Charger. The gadget usually known as
power bank which is we all familiar with. It is a power bank that used solar energy to create
electricity. With the different purpose and knowledge, this gadget were adjusted and
improved more advance to achieve their desire and follow the trend of technological progress
.That is why we also created the power bank with three USB port so the consumer can use it
for multi devices. Every technology was invented through the research to solve their own’s
problem. Just like the air pollution problem that occurred in our country. Besides, this power
bank has strong suction that can attach on window or any surfaces to collect solar energy.
This is to make it easier for us to use. So, we confirm that our invention gives much benefit
just not for us but for the world also. We manage to make major improvements in converting
ordinary power bank to environmental power bank .The goal of this prototype is to show how
the Portable Smart Charger will reduce the coal burning and also reduce our burden by lower
the electricity bill.

METHODOLOGY

In this chapter, the method to be used as well as how the method can be implemented
for this research with respect to the uses of Portable Smart Charger towards the society.
Research methods are a very important component to enabling researchers to conduct
research in an orderly manner to achieve objectives research. By therefore, data for this
research must be collected using methods appropriate to ensure that the objectives of the
study can be achieved as be required.

B. DESIGN PARAMETERS
i) RESEARCH DESIGN
In this study, qualitative methods were used, and the collection process data
were created through interview techniques. Structured interviews were conducted

 together with the respondent to get an answer to each of the questions submitted.
The structured interview form created was divided into several sections.

ii) DATA COLLECTION

Collection of all data and information related to the objective this study was
carried out. Primary data is the data used in this research. Before that, readings
such as journals, prior theses, scientific books, and material from the internet
pertaining to this study has been overstated first to gain an understanding and
overview of this study before appropriate questions for the interview can be
formed. Data and information that obtained because of interviews conducted with
respondents is primary data for this study.

The method used to obtain data is by filling out a google form. Several
questions were posed to obtain data relevant to the objectives of the study.

The questions below is the question that addressed to respondents to collect data :

Question

1. Did you frequently charge your phone a day?

2. Did you often replace your phone charger?
3. Is the amount of your electric bill this month higher ?
4. When you and your family travel , did your family bring more than one power

C. SMART PORTABLE CHARGER DESIGN

CHALLENGES TO FINISH THIS PROJECT

For this project, we have faced many challenges to complete it. Make a suitable
design for the charger is one of the challenges that we face in this project because we had to
make a survey on which design of the charger is suitable for its characteristic that we want to
build, which is to make it hand-carry size. Provide the suitable material for the charger also
the challenges for us because there were many types of material that we must make a survey
first to choose the best material for that characteristic of charger such as solar panel. Create
the cheapest design that suitable with charger make us challenges to thinks too because we
need to have the high knowledge to create it. Furthermore, combining the solar panel with the
charger were hard challenges that we must face too because it also must have a high
knowledgeable to create it. However, we manage to overcome every challenge that we face in
this project, and we can say that this project is success.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, logically nowadays electricity is much important. But the main method
to create electricity in this world is by burning coal. Even our country using this method. It is
a big problem because it causes air pollution. We cannot prevent it 100% but this small
invention may inspire people to love nature and avoid the pollution to our world. Besides, our
objective also to make people better life. It much easier for them to used our Smart Portable
Charger so they can benefits their own and also the environment.
