The writers in Tagalog continued in their lamentation on the condition of the country and their
attempts to arouse love for ones native tongue. American literature is very important for the
education of people as it reveals the culture and history of the United States. Moreover, American
literature studying in other countries gives foreigners the opportunity to get to know American
culture, history, and great works of the great authors better.
American period is one of the turning points which made our Philippine literary
tradition colorful and interesting. This period saw the addition of a colorful
language, the English language, as an indispensable tool for literature and
communication.
