Summary
An investigation into the factors that influence career choice in accounting among Nigerian
University students
is as important and vital as the decision to influence the profession itself.
An investigation into the factors that influence career choice in accounting among Nigerian
University students
is as important and vital as the decision to influence the profession itself.
The study’s objectives have determined the relative influence among the career choice
factors with the chosen accounting field of the respondents. A study of the factors that impact
accounting career choice among New Era University CPAs is just as essential as the decision to
influence the profession itself. From the researcher’s analyses, this study is necessary to ascertain
accounting graduates' perceptions of the factors that influence their career decision.
According to past literature, the concept of selection of a career is related to the influence
factors that affects decision and retaining the profession. In addition, accounting graduates may
opt to pursue a career in one of the following fields: government, commerce and Industry, public
and academe. For this quantitative approach, the researchers have applied statistical methods
such as Chi-Square Test and Paired T-Test and analyzed the results of similar empirical studies
using primary data. Furthermore, data analysis conducted in this research, have used the
Microsoft Excel computer program using SPSS. The various empirical studies supported the
statistical analysis performed. Different methodologies were used to determine the impact of
independent variables on the dependent variable, such as intrinsic and extrinsic factors, and
The findings of the study show that the profession that they would pursue after
graduating is highly dependent on their individual judgments of the demands and opportunities
that they will accept when making a career choice. From the findings described, researchers aim
to re-analyze the results of empirical studies analyzing CPAs' career choices to become
professional accountants, taking into account multiple factors that influence and several distinct
research outcomes. To establish which aspects have the most influence and relationship on
accounting students' career choices to become professional accountants, the researcher's study
job accessibility, job security, flexible work schedule and work-life balance, peer influence and
family influence). The combination and interaction of various influences on individual decision-
making are unique to their situation. However, as the study is centered on a single institution –
NEU main, the research strategy used does not allow broad generalization, but it does provide
valuable insight into accounting students' career decisions in the Philippines. This study is
