Welcome, 2022!
The most common 2022 resolution our team
mentioned was investing in health - be it physical,
mental, or spiritual. It could look like nurturing
friendships, taking frequent walks, letting stuff go, or
figuring out healthy eating. How do you plan to take
care of your health in 2022?

Upcoming Events This Month's Recap

Superbowl - Get Those Squares Ready!
Consider hosting your own squares--it is very
fun and easy to do. If that really isn't your jam,
then consider buying one (several? lol) from
Holly/Regine/Barbara. Can also go in with one
or more other staff to pool money to buy 1+
squares and split any winnings!

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre is
coming to the Wang Theatre, link.
The new year provided a fresh start for projects
at the CSDE: Key began drafting new ideas for
the Y14 Liaison Survey; Margy began observing
NH schools and interviewing their staff and
students; Barbara launched Camp Shriver's
applications; and Holly and Regine worked to
onboard Nathan to our team (Welcome, Nathan!).
In terms of ongoing projects, Nathan, Staci,
Anmol, and Gary worked on a draft of an article
about how community engagement enhances a
sense of positive identity among adolescents and
young adults with IDD. Holly met the Texas
Education Agency deadline for approval of the
student pre-season survey, and Anika wrapped
up the process of assigning participant IDs so
that we can start deidentifying and bracketing
transcripts! Barbara and Regine sorted the
financial side of Camp Shriver, and Barbara
reminded everyone to contact her for purchasing
football squares.
On a personal note, Staci began a new
semester of classes, Sharbari is working towards
getting a "Dr" in front of her name this year, while
Afrina scored several PhD interviews and went
viral on Tik Tok.
