A Symposium on Anti-Drug Abuse

(Education and Campaign)

The issue about drugs has become one of the biggest problems in our society. This problem has
been disturbing the order and peace in our community because of its possible effects to someone that
abuses it. The well-being of individuals, their mental and physical health and their whole body being
affected becomes a frightening effect to concerned citizens and officials especially that their number is
increasing. Even in schools, some students tend to be one of those individuals who are involved in drug
misuse and addiction.

As a way of informing and raising awareness about drugs, we, the SSG conducted a symposium
on anti-drug abuse in partnership with PNP Manaoag on December 07, 2018. This symposium was
mainly about campaign and educating the students of Manaoag National High School in hope that they
will be enlightened about the issue connected to drugs.

Clubs’ mayor/president, vice-mayor/vice-president of different subjects, school organization and

homeroom officers attended the said symposium. In this way, they could also share and disseminate
what they learned from the symposium. After every discussion or topic, the assigned speaker from PNP
asked random questions to students. To make the symposium more interactive, students also asked
questions pertaining to drugs. The issue about lowering the age of criminal liability/responsibility was
also tackled.
