INTRODUCTION
In today's health and social care system, health and well-being are a top focus. Health is
more than just the absence of illness and disability; it is a condition of total physical,
mental, and social well-being. A healthy lifestyle necessitates a strong commitment;
we've gone a long way, but there's still a long way to go. Real progress is made when
universal health goals are met.
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle became exceedingly difficult during the Pandemic. At this
time, ensuring a healthy life and fostering well-being is critical to long-term growth.
PROBLEM
Things have not been the same since the outbreak of Covid 19. Migrants be it domestic or
international have suffered in one way or the other.
As we all know the food which is being prepared by the street food vendors is not healthy
and the food which is provided by the luxurious outlet is not cheap. People have also lost
their jobs, going through financial crises and are not able to support their family and meet
their daily expenses, which is again affecting their health and wellbeing.
The main thing that has been impacted is the health and well being of these people.
● Finding their “Staple Food” has always been the biggest concern for migrant
workers.
● Migrant workers don't have time to cook.
● Unavailability of affordable and healthy food.

Staple or basic foods, foods that are eaten regularly and in such a way that
they form a major part of a person's normal diet, providing a large proportion
of energy needs and often forming essential foods.
Here, Migrant workers cannot benefit them from staple or basic foodstuffs.
There are many reasons for this, one of which is, most of them have lost their
jobs due to the pandemic and looking for jobs being away from home they
are unable to eat staple food as they have family or financial pressure to find
work. For some people health is everything, but here they can't consume
staple food because of unstable jobs / income.
● Fishbone
The main hindrance for the labourers was finding a place where they
could find cheap and nutritious food that they are habitual to. Also after
the covid scenario, many people have lost their jobs which has been
affecting their physical as well as mental health. Economic stability has
been affected dramatically and the whole point of migrating to urban
areas from rural areas has gone in vain.
IDEATION
Designers are ready to start developing ideas during the third stage of the Design
Thinking process. In the Empathise stage, we learned more about our users and
their requirements, and in the Define step, we analysed and synthesised our
findings to come up with a human-centered problem statement. With this solid
foundation, you and your team can begin to "think outside the box" in order to find
fresh solutions to the issue statement you've developed, and we can begin to seek
for different perspectives on the problem.
Here, the idea is to distribute affordable and healthy food to migrants due to the
crisis of covid-19.So, we are going to develop an app for the food distributions and
the food will be made by the wifes of the migrants. So that the good quality of food
will be provided and the income will be managed accordingly as cheaper and good
food will contribute to the health and unemployment of the migrants.
SOLUTION
A sustainable solution to the issue of migration food deficit must focus on fostering
rural-urban economic linkages, enhancing and diversifying rural employment
opportunities, especially for the wives of these immigrants; enabling the poor to
better manage financial security and leveraging remittances for investments in the
rural sector as viable means for improving livelihoods.
The unemployed wives of these immigrants could be encouraged and provided
with an infrastructure that allows them to cook food, distribute it to earn money
and hence be able to feed their families as well as sustain a business.
This would not only ensure food security for these immigrants, but also a
compensation for these women.
PROTOTYPE
It is a health based food app and a pop-up restaurant where customer can
choose their diet as per the calorie intake suggested by the app-
1- Login
2- Fill the questionnaire
3- Choose the diet from the menu
In an APP we will provide the daily meal options which the workers can
choose and change it accordingly.
In APP they can set the timing of the delivery and they can do prior booking
for their breakfast and dinner.
Nutritionist
