EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING ACTIVITY 4

I. LEARNING AND INNOVATION SKILLS

C. Collaboration
ü Demonstrating ability to work effectively and respectfully with diverse teams

In learning and innovation skills, I choose collaboration because through collaboration there are
learnings, many different ideas coming out with different people. We can hear and get different new ideas
and suggestions not just coming from one person, but because there is collaboration, learnings and
innovation skills are developed with the team. Collaboration with our teams or others may help us to
develop in communication, on how we interact with others and to develop our self.

For example, in classroom situation, the discussion between teachers and the students.

If only the teacher discusses and no participation with the students, nothing will develop. Yes, the
teacher imparting knowledge to the students but without collaboration and participation with the students,
students may not develop their abilities. If the teacher let her/his students to work and participate and
when she/he have good strategies to catch up their interest and be in collaborative group, then the
learnings and new ideas coming from both sides will be more interesting that leads to the developments
of the students and good relationship and collaboration.

II. INFORMATION, MEDIA, AND TECHNOLOGY SKILLS


A. Information Literacy
ü Accessing and evaluating information critically and competently
ü Managing the flow of information from a wide variety of sources

To acquire information literacy, one must actively participate in accessing information in a timely
and effective manner.  One must evaluate information in a timely and effective manner.  One must
evaluate information critically and adequately.  To resolve the issue/problem, information must be used
accurately.  A wide variety of sources must also be used to manage the flow of information.  Finally, one
must grasp an understanding of the legal/ethical issues surrounding the use of information.

To be effective in the 21st century, citizens and workers must be able to exhibit a range of
functional and critical thinking skills related to information, media, and technology.

Relate information literacy skills to their future profession. 

By connecting research skills to their future profession students will see a real need to learn the skills
and strategies you’re teaching in class. A good way to do this is to have students interview the information
seeking habits of someone in their field and write a paper about what they discovered.

III. LIFE AND CAREER SKILLS

ü Interact effectively with each other
ü Work effectively in diverse teams

When we interact with each other, we should know when it is appropriate to listen and when to
speak. Inside the classroom, when we have discussions, teachers let us speak when it is about time to
speak and share your knowledge. As a future educator, we should be act as a professional one.

When we work as a team, of course there are differences from each other, from our background
situation, our culture differences, so we must respect, be open-minded and work as a team to make an
innovation and quality of work.
