THE FOLLOWING POINTS SHOULD BE KEPT IN MIND

WHEN TOWER CRANE OPERATI-ON IS PERFORMED_
1. Working radius is the horizontal distance from center line of machine rotation to a
vertical line through the center line of gravity of the load. ·
2. Rated load (in gross weight) shown in the table is that based on machine set on the
firm level ground with maximum of plus minus 0.5 degrees gradient.
The value in the table does include weight of hook blocks, slings and all other load
handling accessories.
3. A load which can be actually lifted with jib is the value that weight of hook blocks,
slings and all other load handling accessories are deducted from the jib rated load.
4. Rated load shown is all determined for limit of machine strength, and so overloading
may cause the tower jib and or frame to be damaged.
5. The blank columns in the table mean crane operation being impossible.
6. Suitable measure to reduce the load or to slow operating speed should be taken in case
where the machine is hazarded to the wind, the ground foundation, working speed and
or placed in the status dangerous against safety working.
7. Tower and guy line arrangement, jib and guy line arrangement, each and reeving of
tower and jib hoist line should proceed exactly as instructed in the (service) manual.
8. Tower hoist reeving is 16 parts of line and 12 parts for jib hoist reeving.
9. The hook to be used is that for 25 ton (hook weight of 0.70 ton), but in case with
27.43m long jib and or with 30.48m long jib put on, the hook for 65 ton (hook weight
of 1.10 ton) be used from view point of weight balance with the strut in no load
status.
10. When erecting or lowering 53.64m or 56.69m long tower plus jib, put pillow block under
the front end of the crawler.
11. Counter weight is 54 ton.
12. Crawler must be extended to a fulcrum to point.
13. Gantry must be in raised position for all conditions.
14. During the jib angle is being below the working angle, the hook block must be kept on
the ground.

i cAUTION FOR THE wxND I

15. When the velocity of the wind becomes lOm to 16m per second, stop operation and pro-
ceed as follows:
1) Fold jib and fix the hook.
2) Locate the machine so that the wind may blow toward the rear of machine
(counter weight side) and stop the engine with the swing brake engaged.
16. ~hen the velocity of the wind becomes over 16m per second, stop operation and put the
tower on the ground, with the swing brake engaged.

I CAUTION DURING PROPELLING !

17. Propelling with the load lifted is dangerous, it should be strictly prohibitted.
18. Have the machine propel gently at low speed, not start suddenly, stop suddenly,
either.
19. As to gradient allowable for propelling, see operators manual.

l cAUTION DURING sw1NGING I

20. Operate machine as much slowly and smoothly as possible, not giving machine a shock.

standard drums.

Above ratings are combined weights of bucket and material.

Clamshell ratings shown also apply to grapple and all other
material handling buckets except dragline. For clamshell opera-
tions, the weight of bucket is considered a part of the load and
the total weight of bucket plus contents must not exceed the
corresponding rating shown.

• Limit on clamshell rating (using 28 mm dia. wire rope-opt.) ...
. ... .... ... . .. .. .. .. ..... ..... .. .. .. ... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. . .. .. ....... 12 ,500 kg (27,600 lb)

Note:
To select the bucket size best suited for your application, use
the following formula: refer to the above charts to obtain clamshell
capacity in kg. Clamshel capacity= (cubic meter capacity of
bucket) x (weight of material per cubic meter) + (weight of
specific clamshell bucket).
