We should understand that there is a relationship between plants ,trees and people, from ancient
times. Most of the plants and trees help us in our existence by supplying our food, medicine and timber
for our furniture.

• We are very fortunate to live in a beautiful environment due to the diversity (different
varieties ) of plants and trees.
• There are plants that are endemic (only) to Sri Lanka.
• Therefore we must pay more attention to safe guard them.
• Plants that we can see in the environment.
