WRITING TASK 2
You should spend about 40 minutes on this task. Write about the following topic:

More and more wild animals are on the verge of extinction and others are on the
endangered list. What are the reasons for this? What can be done to solve this
problem?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own
knowledge or experience.
Write at least 250 words.

Over the last year, our society has been facing numerous issues. Especially, many nations are deeply concerned
about increasing the number of endangered and extinct wildlife. The essay will discuss why this is happening and
outilne several ways to mitigate this situation.

On the one hand, there are many reasons for this phenomenon. First of all, the destrcution of natural habitat is
the biggest problem. This is because people cut down forest for expanding their living area. Secondly, over-
catching and poaching is increasing recently and it leads to decline of species of wild animal. It means that illegal
hunters in many countries kill animals for their lucrative product and big profit. For example, African elephants
have been hunted for their ivory and they are now endangered. Furthermore, crocodile skin could be another
example. Therefore, wildlife is constantly disappearing.

Nevertheless, there are some solutions to improve this problem. Primarily, we need decisive legal intervention of
government for protection of wildlife habitat. Government should expand the greenbelt zone and restricted
development area. Also they need to instruct captive-breeding endangered animals and they must adopt
rewilding program to return. For instance, Asian Black bear is the only one native bear species in South Korea but
the most of species became extinct but Korea government tried captive-breeding with Association of wildlife. As
the result, they succeeded increasing the number of bears. Therefore, protecting wild animals need efforts and
attentions of government and individuals.

In conclusion, even though, many kinds of animals are threatened by poaching and destroying their shleter, if we
change our spend habit, expand greenbelt zone, and try to make efforts to protect them, this problem will be
solved.
