1.

Give three major scientific and technological developments in the world (or in the Philippines) that
create a large impact on our daily life.

 The Internet is a significant technological advancement since it is a non-restricted space in

which people have unlimited access to knowledge. We rely significantly on the internet for new
information these days. We use the information we gain on the internet to improve our general
knowledge and understanding of life. Irresistible is the internet.
 2. Digital Media—The rise of digital media has revolutionized the way we interact and
collaborate with others in our daily lives, both at school and at work for the working class. It
makes a huge difference in how we communicate and engage with one another.
 3. Mobile phones—One of the most important inventions in human history is the advent of the
mobile phone, which has made communication simpler all around the world, no matter where we
are. It's never been easier to get in touch with one another. It is crucial in allowing us to easily
communicate with our loved ones.

2. What historical antecedents gave rise to the inventions you mention in the firstquestion?

 However, the history of mobile phones goes back to 1908 when a US Patent was issued in
Kentucky for a wireless telephone. Mobile phones were invented as early as the 1940 when
engineers working at AT&T developed cells for mobile phone base stations. The very first mobile
phones were not really mobile phones at all.
 Computer: Although attributed to Charles Babbage, it is likely that Ada Lovelace, (a member of
the Byron family), who was a brilliant mathematician in her own right, is more likely to have
been the greater contributor to the Babbage Engine, the world’s first computer as we would know
it.
 Mobile phone: Motorola produced the first handheld mobile phone in 1973. Prior to that only
radio communications, sometimes still referred to as “walkie-talkies”, was available.
 Internet: ARPANET was the network that became the basis for the Internet. Based on a concept
first published in 1967, ARPANET was developed under the direction of the U.S. Advanced
Research Projects Agency (ARPA). In 1969, the idea became a modest reality with the
interconnection of four university computers.

3. How did the development in science and technology shape human history?

 For thousands of years, humans have taken the natural world and bent it to their will. Using our
knowledge of the world, we've changed it in ways that have benefited us. Science is the
systematic study of the natural world, and it's a process that's expanded our knowledge
dramatically over the last 400 years. With that knowledge comes capability. Technology is where
we apply our scientific knowledge to achieve a particular goal. Technology can be super simple:
one of the earliest and greatest technological achievements was the wheel. Nails, hammers,
ropes, watering cans; anything that is created by us to take advantage of the world that we live in
is technology. The wheel was one of the first pieces of technology to shape history
 It's not hard to see how technology has completely changed the world we live in, and therefore
changed history. These effects can be great or terrible. In this lesson we're going to go through a
few of the most significant technological innovations humans have made and how they have
shaped history.
