TOP PLACES TO SEE IN ISTANBUL

HAGIA SOPHIA:

Located in the Fatih district of Istanbul, this historical artifact is a very magnificent
masterpiece dating back to the Byzantine and Osmanlı periods. Their embroideries, decor,
motifs are really unique beauty. It is the largest and oldest church built by Eastern Rome in
Istanbul. It was used as a cathedral for many years. However, after the conquest of Istanbul,
it was turned into a mosque thanks to architect Sinan and Fatih Sultan Mehmet. It was used
as a mosque until 1930. In 1934, it was turned into a museum at the request of Atatürk.

GRAND BAZAAR:

Located in Beyazit, in the center of Istanbul, this bazaar is the largest and oldest bazaar in
the world. The aim of the Grand Bazaar, established in Ottoman times, was to strengthen the
economy. it is one of the largest economic projects of the time. Fatih Sultan Mehmet kept
the valuable treasures of the palace here.
The size of its architecture and the elegance of the shops still attract great interest. it is still
an important architecture frequented and shopped by tourists and locals.

MAIDENS TOWER:

This architecture which has become the symbol of Üsküdar, is located off the Bosphorus of
Istanbul. there are many mythological stories about this. it is based on the meeting of two
young lovers named leondros and hero. according to another legend, the daughter of the
Byzantine emperor would die from a snake bite according to the prophecy. after that, the
Byzantine Emperor imprisons his daughter in a tower on an island in the middle of the sea.
but he still can't save her from snake bites.
Today, the lowest floor is used as a restaurant. an internal staircase leads to the upper
floor.Thanks to the binoculars on the upper floors, you can see the Bosphorus. It's definitely
one of the most intriguing. A magnificent architecture worth visiting.

GALATA TOWER:

Galata Tower, one of the most remarkable works of Istanbul, was built by the Byzantine
Empire. The purpose of its construction is to be used as a lantern tower and to guide sailors.
it has been used for many years for this task.After Hazerfen Ahmet Çelebi conducted his first
flight experience here, interest in the tower also increased. today, the terrace section offers
visitors the opportunity to see Istanbul. Interest in the terrace of this excellent Tower is also
quite high.There's a legend about this tower that you married the person you went out on
the terrace with.
THE BLUE MOSQUE:

Sultan Ahmet Mosque is a complete work of art with its architectural structure, embroidery
and tiles. The most notable feature of the mosque is its carving, chipping and manual labor
with great skill. It is also known as the Blue Mosque because of the Blue embroideries and
tiles covering its interior walls and ceiling. Reflecting the architecture of the Islamic religion,
this architectural work has attracted many tourists for many years.Mosques in the Islamic
world have an extremely magnificent and glamorous structure. It was added to the unesco
World Heritage List in 1985.

DOLMABAHCE PALACE:

At various times, various Sultans turned this place into a very large Palace. It is an extremely
large and huge palace. There are 285 rooms, 46 halls, 6 bathrooms and 68 toilets. every
corner has its own luxury and grandeur. It should definitely be seen. in addition, Turkey has a
very important place in the history of the Republic, as it is the place where its leader Atatürk
died.

BASILICA CISTERN:
It got the name because of the hundreds of marble columns rising in the water.quite large
and wide, these marbles are designed in a cylinder shape. It was built during the Byzantine
period to meet the water needs of the palace and the locals
The most notable feature is the legendary 'Medusa head', which remains under 2
columns.According to this legend, medusa turned those who looked after her to stone. thus,
the symbols of Medusa were made to protect large palaces and architectural structures. This
Medusa symbol is a statue made with great talent. this is a masterpiece.
