Variables:
Hypothesis:
Null Hypothesis - The lesser the concentration of the enzyme, the level of foam created
increases after adding the catalyse.
Hypothesis - With more enzyme concentration (potato) the level of foam created will increase
and it can be shown through the bubbles that appear on the surface of the solution.
Precautions:
- Make sure that you are wearing gloves (contact with peroxide can cause burns and
damage eye tissues)
- Make sure not to spill hydrogen peroxide on any cutlery (through away any in contact)
- Use goggles/glasses (if you have any )
- For girls tie your hair
Method:
1. Cut the potato in the preferred grams/ pieces.
2. Put 100 ml of hydrogen peroxide in a glass bowl.
3. Have a stopwatch ready and drop the potato piece into the hydrogen peroxide.
4. Immediately measure the height of the solution and start the timer for 2 minutes.
5. After 2 minutes, measure the new height and record the change.
6. Repeat this experiment for 25g, 50g, 75g, 100g, 125g potato piece
7. Repeat the experiment, for each potato size, 4 times
