1. Get a housemate.
2. Answer the Par-Q and You screening tool. You should check your housemate answers to determine if
she/he should be excluded from the activity.
3. Prepare the environment for the assigned fitness test. The goal is to create stations for each component of
the assessment test.
FLEXIBILITY TESTS
Significance: PATIENT IS ABLE TO REACH HIS BOTH HANDS WHEN DOING RIGHT AND LEFT APLEY’S
SCARTCH TEST
Result: 76 cm.
Procedures:
Client removes shoes and sits on floor with the measuring line between their legs with the
soles of their feet placed immediately behind the baseline, heels 8-12" apart.
Clasp thumbs so that hands are together, palms facing down and placed on measuring
line.
With the legs held flat by examiner, the client slowly reaches forward as far as possible, keeping the
fingers on baseline and feet flexed.
After three practice tries, the client holds the fourth reach for three seconds while that distance is
recorded.
Make sure there are no jerky movements, and that the fingertips remain level and the legs flat.
Result: ___20___cm.
Procedures:
Client sits on the floor with knees bent, and feet flat on the floor and legs together.
Let client’s knees drop sideways as far as possible while keeping the feet together. The soles of your feet
should be together and facing each other.
Client should on to his/her feet with both hands, and pull the ankles as close to the body as possible.

Very Good 10 cm
Good 15 cm
Fair 20 cm
Poor 25 cm
Procedures:
Client should stand the maximum distance he/she can stand flat footed away from the wall.
>60sec = normal.
<45sec = Grade 4
For males: Wide upper extremity base; Toes for stabilization of the lower extremity; Knees extended; Back
straight at all times
For females: Wide upper extremity base; Knees for stabilization of the lower extremity; Knees bent; Back
straight at all times
Result: __45_____ maximum number of 90-degree squat repetitions until fatigue (no time limit)
