Sir/Ma’am:
Pursuant to the Supreme Court OCA Circular 179-2018, in relation to the passage of
Republic Act No. 10951, detention prisoners who seeks to modify her sentence may file a Verified
Petition before the Regional Trial Court exercising territorial jurisdiction over the locality where the
petitioner-convict is confined. As such, CIW inmates, by themselves or counsel, may file the necessary
petition before the Regional Trial Courts of Mandaluyong City.
In connection thereto, said petition must contain a: (1) certified true copy of the Decision
sought to be modified, (2) a mittimus and/or (3) certification as to the length of sentence already
served by the petitioner-convict.
We have already requested from the Bureau of Corrections, through the Correctional Institute
for Women, a certified true copy of the certificate of detention and prison record for purposes of
computing the length of service, in consideration of earned good conduct time allowance of the
following inmates.
To expedite the filing of the verified petitions, the Public Attorney’s Office, Mandaluyong
District, hereby requests the following documents from the Regional Trial Courts within your
jurisdiction, the details of which are as follows:
Respectfully,
