VACCINES DESCRIPTION REQUIRED DOSES

1) BCG Vaccine (Bacillus = a vaccine given to babies to protect them from Child: 0.05 ml single dose

pertussis.

4) Haemophilus influenzae type b prevent diseases caused by Haemophilus 4 doses= birth-15 months
(Hib) influenzae type B (HIB), a bacteria responsible
for a range of serious "invasive" diseases
including meningitis with potential brain
damage and epiglottis with airway obstruction.

5) Pneumococcal conjugate =prevent pneumococcal disease. 4 doses= birth-15 months


(PCV13)

6) Inactivated Polio virus (IPV) a polio vaccine that consists of inactivated 1 dose=14 weeks
(killed) polio virus strains of all three polio virus
types
7) Measles, Mumps and rubella Protection from: Measles, Mumps and Rubella 1 dose= birth-15 months
(MMR)
1 dose== 18 months-18 years

8) Hepatitis A (Hep A) used to prevent infection caused by the hepatitis 2-dose series= birth-15 months

your body to produce its own protection
(antibodies) against the disease.

9) Varicella (VAR) = Also know as chicken pox vaccine 1 dose = 12-15 months and 4-6 months
=protects against chicken pox 2 dose= 4 weeks apart if given after age 13
2 dose=adults

10) Pentavalent Vaccine Protection from: Diphteria, Pertussis, Tetanus, 1st dose: 6 weeks
Influenza B and Hepatitis B 2nd dose: 4 weeks after
3rd dose: 4 weeks after
1st booster: 12 months after
2nd booster: 4-6 y.o

11) Rotarix and rotateq Vaccine against Rotavirus 3 dose (2,4,6 months of age)

12) PCV Protection from Pneumonia and Meningitis 3 doses (2,4,6 months)

13) HPV (Human Papillomavirus) Prevent cervical Cancer 3 doses (0,6,12 months)

14) Tetanus Toxoid Prevent tetanus 3 doses (2,4,6 months)

15) Japanese Encephalitis (JE) Prevent Japanese Encephalitis 2 dose ( 28 days apart)
