ASSIGNMENT TWO

1. Write and come up with the similarities and difference between Bitcoin,
Blockchain and Fake news detection.
Blockchain is an open distributed database, which means the data contained within the
blockchain is distributed across many computers and is therefore decentralized. This
decentralization is one of the things that makes blockchain so transformative. Unlike in a
traditional, centralized database, where records are processed by one central administrator, the
entire blockchain is transparent and data is verified by user consensus. Yet, despite this
transparency, blockchains are incredibly secure. That’s because there’s no one central point of
attack for hackers to target. In other words, a blockchain is a computer file for storing data.
Blockchains are typically managed by a peer-to-peer network for use as a publicly distributed
ledger, where nodes collectively adhere to a protocol to communicate and validate new blocks.
The goal of blockchain is to allow digital information to be recorded and distributed, but not
edited. In this way, a blockchain is the foundation for immutable ledgers, or records of
transactions that cannot be altered, deleted, or destroyed.
Blockchain is the technology that underpins Bitcoin and it was developed specifically for
Bitcoin. So, Bitcoin was the first example of blockchain in action and without blockchain, there
would be no Bitcoin.
Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency, or peer-to-peer electronic payment system, where
users can anonymously transfer bitcoins without the interference of a third-party authority (like a
bank or government). Bitcoin is just one example of a cryptocurrency, though; other
cryptocurrency networks are also powered by blockchain technology. So although Bitcoin uses
blockchain technology to trade digital currency, blockchain is more than just Bitcoin. Bitcoins
are not stored physically on any platform, and it uses a mathematical algorithm to protect a string
of numbers stored in public and a private key. In layman terms, the public key is equivalent to a
bank account number, while a private key is equivalent to an ATM pin.
The difference between these two is as follows
 Blockchain is a technology and many cryptocurrencies like bitcoin using blockchain for
secure and anonymous transactions.
 Blockchain is a transparent mechanism, whereas bitcoins operate on anonymity.
 Blockchain has a much more extensive use, while bitcoin is only restricted to exchange in
digital currencies.
 Bitcoin is only used to transfer digital currencies, while blockchain transfers proprietary
information, digital assets, rights, etc.
Fake news is information which has no fact behind it but presented factually accurate and
consumed by millions through television, radio, websites or social media. Blockchain
technology is declared to be the emerging technologies to revolutionize the way information is
produced and disseminated. Due to the traceability, transparency and decentralization nature of
the blockchain, the problem of fake news can be handled effectively. The blockchain enabled
platform can provide online readers with a reliable way of verifying the content and its source.
This new technology won’t necessarily stop people from posting false information. What
blockchain-based news and media projects could do, at minimum, is foster a new sense of trust
in what they see online by making it easier to track and verify. Such efforts could also encourage
the public to exercise a healthier skepticism of online media overall.

2. Describe the difference between Wi-Fi, Li-Fi and Gi-Fi technologies.

Wi-Fi or wireless Fidelity is a wireless technology that uses radio frequency to transmit data
through the air. A Wi-Fi network is created by establishing hotspots. The hotspot device that is
connected to the computer or any other device translates the data to be sent into radio signals.
The radio signals are then transmitted into the air through an antenna. On the receiving side, the
decoder translates the radio signals back to the data and thus the information is received.
Gi-Fi or gigabit wireless is the world’s first transceiver integrated on a single chip that operates
at 60Hz. Gi-Fi is ten times faster than Wi-Fi and allows the wireless transfer of audio and video
data up to 5 gigabits per second at low power consumption within range of 10 meters.
Li-Fi or light fidelity is a wireless technology that uses optics for data transmission. It makes the
use of light emitting diodes to send the data over a distance. This technology has vast application
where the use of Wi-Fi is limited or banned. The system would be low of cost as it requires less
number of components. It eliminates any health hazards caused by RF waves.
Operation
 Wi-Fi technology is operated by transmission and reception of radio signals
 Li-Fi is operated by frequently flickering LED bulbs for the data transmission
 Gi-Fi technology uses millimeter waves to transmit data over the air
Data rate
 Wi-Fi is only able to provide the data rate speed of 150 megabytes per second
 Li-Fi technology aims to provide the speed of up to 1 gigabytes per second
 Gi-Fi technology can provide the speed of up to 5 gigabytes per second and even more
Range
 Wi-Fi system has the largest range us compared to Li-Fi and Gi-Fi providing range up to
300 meters
 Li-Fi can make maximum be of 100 meters depending upon the light intensity in the
range of the LED
 The range of Gi-Fi is noted to be very small up to 10 meters
Frequency
 Wi-Fi network on the frequency of licensed unlicensed band of 2.4 GHz end 5Hz
 Li-Fi system can achieve the frequency up to 5 THz
 The Gi-Fi cheap works on the frequency around 60 GHz
