The document provides suggestions for conducting an effective online class using Zoom. It recommends holding the class in a quiet room and asking students to mute their microphones until speaking. The instructor should greet students by name, introduce the topic, check that slides are visible, engage students with questions, and encourage participation. The class should not exceed 45 minutes, with 30-35 minutes spent on teaching and the remainder used for interactive activities. Feedback from students should be gathered and any questions answered.

Take the class in a well-lit and quite room in order to avoid
reverberation. Ask the students to switch off their mic and raise hands before speaking. Wait for at least 5-8 students to join-in and then start the class. Ask whether Audible or Not. Greet them with a Hi/ Hello. Call out all their names once. And if someone has not joined with their own name, politely ask them to change it. Start with an Introduction (about the tutor, LYUM and Subject and Topic they will be learning today) Ask them how they are doing? Did they enjoy the last class? Ask for Recording Permission Tell them about what we are learning today. Ask them if they have any prior knowledge about that particular topic. Share your Slides; ask if the screen is visible. Start Teaching. Call out their names if they are not responding. Ask Questions in between. When they answer then make use of encouraging words. (E.g. Aree Waah! Bohot Badhiya!, Good, etc). And always take their names. Take constant feedback from students( samaj aa raha hai na?) Ask if they have any doubts or questions. If a student or two is very actively interacting then talk to them, ask them follow up questions, encourage them and say something like (Very good Riya. Tumhe toh saare ans aate hai, Lagta hai Maths tumhara favourite subject hoga Or Aree Waah Tum toh kafi hoshiyar ho.) Use Hindi language mostly. But avoid technical/difficult Hindi words (shudh hindi). As students are from villages of UP so avoid the jargon and make use everyday hindi words only. Duration of Class: Not more than 45mins (with teaching time of 30-35 mins only). Last 10-15 mins could be used for interactive games/ fun activities. End the class by thanking them. And ask them to come again for the next class on this this date (as per the Time Table). Please go through the following resources for teachers educating on Zoom for an interactive online class.
