1. What is the most obvious advantage of sleep?

Ans: The most obvious advantage of sleep is that it gives rest to our body. The
body recovers from weariness after a good sleep and becomes alert and active.
It becomes ready for the usual activities of the day.

2. What happens to our body when we sleep?

Ans: Our body gets rest when we sleep. Our muscles relax more and our
heartbeat becomes slower. Our temperature and blood pressure go down
when we sleep.

3. Define a dream in your own words.

Ans: A dream is an activity of the mind which takes place when we are asleep.

4. Why are dreams important? Mention two reasons

Ans: Dreams are important due to following reasons
• They help us sleep through noise and other disturbances.
• They can provide solutions to certain problems.

5. Why has sleep been called a wonder?

Ans: Sleep has been called a wonder because nobody knows what causes sleep.
Sleep is a good tonic. The body and brain recover from weariness after a good
sleep. Sleep is a state of rest. When we wake up, we feel fresh, become alert and
ready for the normal activities of the day. During sleep, our muscles relax and
the heart beat becomes slower. Sleep is the most common experience. But very
few people know how wonderful it is. It takes us to a strange land and refreshes
ourselves.

Chaos, dirt and disorder have become the regular features of metros in India.
The chaotic state of traffic in metropolitan cities has become a cause of concern
for the concerned authorities as well as the public. The ever-increasing number
of vehicles on roads have resulted in frequent traffic jams. There is hardly any
space left for pedestrians. The traffic becomes really unmanageable at peak
hours. The atmosphere gets polluted with smoke, dust and fumes of diesel and
petrol. The possibilities of road accident are always there in such chaotic
conditions.
The concerned authorities must find out ways and means to bring order and
system on the roads in metros. The public transport must be made more
comfortable, cheap and clean. Last but not least, the traffic police must
streamline the traffic and maintain ideal road culture to avoid jams and chaotic
conditions.

Education policies in schools today are student friendly. Now, the move is
on to do away with school uniforms. Write an article on ‘Uniforms are
