Expressions used with the Present Simple

• Frequency adverbs: always, usually, often, sometimes,


rarely, never (they are placed before the main verb)

• Usually go at the end or beginning of a sentence:


• every day / week / Friday… on Mondays / Sundays… at
the weekend… in the morning / afternoon… in winter /
spring… once a day / week…

• Yesterday I went to school / I went to school yesterday


• This week I’m going to the beach
• I’m going to the beach this week.
Time expressions
• They didn’t sleep well last night.

• We met again the next day.

• They will study that tomorrow.

• Don’t worry Alex, They will come in an hour.

• He was a good boy in the past.

• They will buy a new one next month.
