BUILD YOUR OWN COMPOSTING TOILET

This manual assumes you have a basic knowledge of construction techniques.


Construction of this unit requires the use of various hand and power tools.

Also, this manual assumes construction using all of the items listed below. If
you need to substitute any of these items, (especially plastic jugs, computer fan,
bucket, etc.) then you will need to adjust the dimensions of corresponding parts
accordingly.

Seal all the joints inside the box with caulk and
then seal the entire assembly inside and out with
polyurethane wood sealer. Follow manufacturer's
instructions for how many coats to use.

STEP 23
Reassemble the Reducer/Fan assembly to the PVC
pipe, and install it with adhesive caulk, putting the
Vent Cover on the pipe from the outside, and ad-
hering it with adhesive caulk making sure the flange
covers any gaps between the hole and the pipe.

Connect wires to your 12V power supply making

Place composting material (we use Peat Moss - it's


easy to find and it works great) into the bucket and
position it under the rear of the seat. Remove the
cap and place your Urine Jug under the spout on
the Urine Diverter. (Backup Urine Jug fits alongside)
