example.

1. Hotels These are the most common
type of hotels which
accommodate gusts or
travelers.
2. Tourist Inns Type of accommodation that
accommodates travelers who
came from a long drive. It is
also a lodging establishment
catering to transients which
does not meet the minimum
requirements of an economy
hotel.
3. Apartment hotels or Contains several
apartels independent and furnished or
semi furnished apartments,
apartels offer limited services
compared to hotels. They are
the one who deals with
travelers who wants more or
less long-term basis.
4. Motels This type of accommodation
is cheaper than hotels
5. hostels A low cost and short-term
hotel. It is a shared
accommodation which
strangers can share their
rooms having a single bed
each guest.
6. Bed and Breakfasts Bed & Breakfasts are a
wonderfully eclectic mix of all

Hotels are classified according to the hotel size, location, target markets, levels of service,
facilities provided, number of rooms, ownership and affiliation etc. Besides these classifications
hotels are often classified with the Star, Diamond or Crown system, depending on geographic
location.

3. Explain what is a star rating.

Star Ratings are about standards your standards, our standards and the standards expected by
your guests. Star Ratings are an internationally recognized symbol for quality accommodation
standards.
