Outcomes At the end of this unit, the students will be able to:
1) Recognize the kinds of animals with ASL
2) Recognize what animal when do in ASL expressions & classifiers
3) Identify which animal that belongs to: Zoo, Farm, Home, Ocean, Aquarium, or Forest
Lesson Lesson 1: Animals
Outcomes At the end of this lesson, the students will be able to:
1) Incorporate every animal signs
2) Dramatize depiction of the object/subject and the path of the object/subject
3) Identify different facial expressions of animals with facial expressions & classifiers
4) Integrate symbiotic relationship between eye gaze and object

Roll Call Teacher will check all students are sitting down at their tables and get their 5 mins
attention on me with the SmartTV
Opening/ Show & discuss different objects, ask how to sign each of the objects as 5 mins
Review teacher show the signs
Teacher Show Slides of categories of zoo, ocean, farm, home, forest & aquarium 20 mins
Directed animals
Areas of focus:
1) Pictures of all kinds of animals
2) Sign animals with facial expressions with classifiers
3) Recognize which animal that belongs to what area environment?
Guided Demonstrate each student dialogue for each: 20 mins
Practice 1) SIGN ANIMAL in ASL
2) SIGN ANIMAL with facial expressions & classifiers
3) PICK WHICH CATEGORY that animals belong to
Students will understand which animals belongs to and aware about which
animals is ok for pets and not ok to have as pet. Students practice signing
those animals in ASL and facial expressions with classifiers.
Independent Teacher will have the students ask each other what their favorite animals and 5 mins
Practice what animal is they don’t like or scared of.

Closure Quickly ask students to share what they’ve learned during class. Explain 5 mins
upcoming assignment. Answer questions. Dismiss class.
Assessment Informal: Teacher observe students to see if they understood the animal signs. Full Class
