Title: A Study on Stress Level and Coping Strategies among Undergraduate

- The study showed that among the 195 student participants of the study, 138
students or 71% showed that their stress and anxiety increased due to the COVID-
19 Outbreak and several stressors were identified and associated to the increasing
level of stress, anxiety and depressive thoughts among the students such as fear
and worry about their own health and their loved ones, difficulty in concentrating,
their sleeping patterns, decreased social interactions due to social isolations and the
increasing concerns about their academic performances and in order to survive the
stress and anxiety they are dealing with, the participants have sought help from
others and even by helping themselves by acquiring either positive or negative
coping mechanisms (Son et al., 2020).

- According to Cognitive sciences and human development feelings of stress are a

part of university students’ life. Some levels of stress can be good, as the right
kind of stress encourages them toward change and growth. However, when
students are unable to cope with stress, they can become a burden. It is recom-
mended that students should be encour-aged to take part in extra-curricular ac-
tivities such as sports to reduce stress.
