What is your responsibility?

• Comply with the safe work practices

• Including documentation

• “Stop the Job” if you feel unsafe or

don’t understand the task! Stop
work and notify your supervisor
immediately if you feel you are
unable to work safely

• Request the proper tools and

equipment if they are not provided
(or are in poor repair)

• Remind your working buddy on any

unsafe acts & keep an eye on each
other

Never modify any tools or equipment

without permission

• Only use approved methods and tools

• Use the proper tool for the job

• Never perform a task you are unsure

how to do safely

• Question actions that seem unsafe

Stop unsafe work

• Every employee has the authority and

obligation to intervene if work is unsafe

• Or if the conditions are unsafe

Be fit to work

• Do not work if you are too: tired,

distracted, or not feeling well enough to
work safe

• Never drive more than 10 hours, and

never drive and work more than 16
hours in a day

Preventing Slips, Trips and Falls

Always use the handrails

• Take the stairs at a slow, safe, and

steady pace

• Never carry anything on stairs if it

requires two hands or obstructs your
vision

• Report EVERYTHING
• Relatively minor near misses often lead to important policy changes

• Identifies the cause or causes of an accident

• Helps prevent future recurrences

• Nameless and blameless

Importance of Reporting Early

• Can prevent the issue from getting

worse

• Complies with regulations

• Gives any injured persons support

needed with medical and disability
