Question 1

Hello. Before I talk about my family, I would like to introduce myself. I am Vanessa Nun
anak Adir. I am 43 years old and I was born in Sarawak. I have been living in peninsular
Malaysia for the past 14 years and been teaching for 16 years. Currently, I am teaching in Pulai
Pangkor, Perak.

My lovely family consists of six people including myself. I have a husband and four
beautiful daughters. My husband works as a Navy Soldier at Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia
(TLDM), Lumut, Perak. He is the head of the family. He is a very hardworking man which
means he takes his works seriously to bring ease or comfort to the family in term of finance.

Two of my daughters are secondary school students. The eldest daughter is 15 years old
and the second daughter is 13 years old. My eldest is Angeline Marsha. She is studying at SMK
Convent Sitiawan Perak. My second daughter is Amanda Christy and she is currently in SMK
Pangkalan TLDM Lumut. Both of them are doing well in their studies and always score above
average when comes to examinations. They are very helpful too when comes to do house chores.
For example, the eldest would love to help me to do dishes and the second will be doing the
laundry. I am so blessed to have such helpful daughters helping me manage my home.

My third daughter is six years old and currently a kindergartener of Prasekolah SK Seri
Pangkor. Her appearance resembles to her grandmother a lot. She is a lovely daughter who loves
to take care of the younger sibling. She would play with her whenever I am busy with both
works and house chores.

My third daughter, Alyssa Sandra is three years old. She is a cheeky girl but also the
mood maker of the family. She really loves to make the family members happy. For example,
she would make the older sisters laugh by making silly faces and comforting her sisters
whenever my husband and I scolded my daughters’ mistakes. My last child is Annastasyia
Michelle. She is only 2 years and 6 months old. Everyone in the family loves to pamper here as
she is the baby of the family. Her sisters would take good care of her if I am busy with work so I
am relieved to have responsible children to help me.

At the end of the day, all of them are very important and meaningful to me. And yes, we
may argue sometimes but this brings us to be closer to each other as a family. We all have one
reason or the other on why we love our family. I love my family because they are my special gift
I could ever ask for and the fact that they have been there for me through the good, bad and
funny times.

Question 2

If I get 1 million ringgit I would spend it to improve my family’s life. Everybody wants
to live comfortably and that includes my family and I . I would get a beautiful place for me and
my family to live. That would be the most important for me . I don’t want to worry about having
to pay housing loans for such a long time. The 1 million ringgit will solve the problem. The
house should also have the most important necessities for me to manage and do chores. It does
not matter if the house is luxurious or not but it has to be complete so that my family can live
comfortably and happily without worry. It would be lovely if it could include some space for me
to do some gardening and for my children to do their activities. It is also important for me to be
near my parents therefore I would build the house near my parents. If they want to, they are also
welcomed to to live with us. But you know parents, they are so reluctant to leave their own
home.

Next, I would also spoil my parents with riches and whatever they wish for. This is the
time for me to give back what they have sacrificed for me and my sibling. They have never been
on a luxury vacation. So I will fly them to any where they want. I will also take my siblings so
that we can have a grand family reunion. It is the time for me to cherish our family bonds and not
the time to be selfish. This has always been my dream for our family to be the closest as we can
be.

It is important not to spend overspend them all in one go. I have to save and put away
some money for the future . You never know what will happen next in your life. I could also put
in some for investments so that I could earn more money that I have spent. I also have to make
sure my children’s future is secured. I will be needing money for their education. Maybe they
will go to a private university or maybe a university outside the country. So it is smart to start
planning from now.

Providing and investing for your family is the best decision that I should do. This is
because family is the most important for me. If they are happy then I will be happy. By giving
them the best option I can make sure of the future and will not feel troubled by lacking
necessities. I don’t need gold and diamonds or expensive cars I just need my family to be happy
and content.

Other than that, it is also important to do act of kindness. I should share some wealth
some wealth with the needy. I would gladly donate money to orphans, old folks home and even
animal shelters. God will pay back 10 times fold I am sure. If not now than in the hereafter.
Those are some of the things I would do If I get to spend a million ringgit. I think that will be all.
