To learn about adjectives and how they are used.
To be able to identify adjectives in a sentence.

Success Criteria:
To be able to sort adjectives according to the 5 senses.
To be able to complete a sentence using an appropriate adjective.

Assessment of learning: Students will complete an online google slide -Adjective slideshow
worksheet. For the worksheet, students will need to sort adjectives into -Adjective google slide
categories based on their 5 senses. worksheets
Assessment of learning: Students will complete an online google slide
worksheet. For the worksheet, students will need to think of adjectives that
can be used to finish the superhero sentences.

Accommodations / Modifications:
Fewer words can be sorted based on the 5 senses.
Slideshow will be available for student review on Hapara.

-Start slide show. See if any of the students can identify what the words
written in blue have in common. They are adjectives!
-Explain that adjectives help describe nouns. Nouns are a person, place, or
thing.

Ask for individual students to read the word and determine if they think the
word is an adjective. The adjectives will stay on the board. The words that are
not adjectives will fly away.

Ask for individual students to help read the sentences and try to identify the
adjectives in the sentences.

-Explain the independent work that needs to be completed during the

-Students must sort the adjectives according to the 5 senses. But they need to
be careful, not all of the words are adjectives.
-Students must complete the superhero sentences. They must think of an
adjective to write in the line above each picture. The superhero saves the……

Notes:
- Need to be in slideshow or present mode for all of the animations to work during this slideshow.
Lesson Reflection:

The lesson went well and was well timed. I received positive feedback from my AT. The requirement for
the slides to be in ‘slideshow’ seemed to be an issue when students accessed them through Hapara. In
the future, I will not include this type of slide show in the copy that students can access.
