Rationale and Course Description


Survey of Philippine Literature in English as a course enables students to
analyze the growth of Philippine Literature in English from 1900 to the present along
socio-historical events as shown in representative works.
Learning Outcomes
In this course, the students should be able to:
a. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of time periods and growth
and development in Philippine literature
b. Interpret literary works in the context of socio-historical events
c. Read and write creatively and critically in the understanding of
representative literary works
d. Use technology in designing integrated lessons and instructional
materials that are culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate
using Philippine literary works English
