PROJECT ORIENTATION

WHY THIS PROGRAM?
► Aim is to broaden student’s perception.

► Attempt to bridge a gap between the academic institution and the corporate world

► To feel the harshness of the professional environment.

Where it can be done?

How?
► Make a list of the companies to be approached

► Approach the organization with a copy of a project letter


from the college (Photocopied)

► Request for Company guide (Optional)

► Select the topic for the project report

► Regular meetings with the college guide

► Make a note of important dates


Conduct and Behaviour
► Representatives of the college

► They expect you to keep up the standards of work place

► Be regular , punctual and obedient

► Complete the tasks assigned to you

► Unprofessional behaviour will be tolerated both at the company and the


college on getting to know about it.
(Will effect your placement and opportunity for your juniors)
Points to Remember:
► The project work shall be for a period for 6 weeks ( immediately after the Vth semester examinations).

► The project work shall be on a topic in the area of specialization specified and as opted by the
candidate.

► Students shall be submitting 2 copies one for the College, and the other one for the student and also a
soft copy.

► No two students of an institute shall work on the same problem in the same organization. A maximum
of 3 students doing research in different streams can work in the same organization.

► The student shall seek the guidance of the internal guide on a continuous basis, and the guide shall give
a certificate to the effect that the candidate has worked satisfactorily under his/her guidance.
► A certificate by the guide, HOD and head of institution indicating the bonafide
performance of project by the student to be enclosed.

► An undertaking by the student to the effect that the work is independently carried
out by him/her.

► The project report must have a minimum of 100 pages and not exceeding 125
pages.

► Topics once chosen cannot be changed.

► Common topics shall not be entertained

► Do your project work after the college hours and during holidays.

► Do meet the Project Guides after class hours and not during the class hours.

► Don’t try to show off, you are not doing a favor

Guidelines for writing the Project Report
► The project work shall be for a period for 6 weeks immediately after the Vth semester

examinations.

► The project work shall be on a topic in the area of specialization specified and as opted by

the candidate.

► Students shall be submitting 2 copies one for the college, and the other one for the

► On completion of the project work, student shall prepare a report with following:

► The project report shall be prepared using MS Word

► All the report shall be printed in the A4 size 1” margin on all sides.

► The report shall be hard bound facing sheet (Rexine binding) indicating the title of college

and month & year of admission (spiral binding not permitted).

► A certificate by the guide, HOD and head of institution indicating the bonafide

performance of project by the student to be enclosed.

► An undertaking by the student to the effect that the work is independently carried out by

him/her.
► The student shall seek the guidance of the internal guide on a continuous basis, and the
guide shall give a certificate to the effect that the candidate has worked satisfactorily
under his/her guidance.

► The project report must have a minimum of 100 pages and not exceeding 125 pages.

► Font size: Chapter heading: 18; Sub-heading: 14 and text of the running matter: 12.

► Fonts to be used are Times New Roman. The text of the project should have 1.5 line
spacing;

► Page number: Page should be numbered consecutively and clearly. No page number
should be indicated on title page, declaration and acknowledgement;

► Topics once chosen cannot be changed. Header : Topic of the Study


► Foot note: College Name & Page Number

Content of the project
How to close?
► Summary of the findings
The conclusion the project should be given so as to justify the objectives of
the study.

► Recommendations, Suggestions and conclusion


Draw with direct reference to objectives of the study. These
recommendations should be specific, expectable, practical and dear.
