Course Descrip!on:

This Health class will provide high school students


with an understanding of what is health. This
knowledge will help the student make responsible
decisions, develop self-esteem, and op!mize their
own poten!al for developing a balanced lifestyle.
This class will deal with the integra!on of the
physical, mental, social, and spiritual dimensions
of life.

Course Objec!ves:

The students will be able to:

1. Develop knowledge of God as Creator

2. Improve fitness through labs and ongoing
fitness lifestyle (HTH.5.5)
3. Acquire a desire for spiritual health
(HTH.5.5)
4. Do research about the effect of drugs in

Via Teams students will view assignments and


quizzes will be taken.

Course Projects and Labs:

Each student must complete a health-related


project. Both a wri#en paper and presenta!on is
required. Details of the project will be given in
wri!ng. Students will be choosing one (1) body
system and prepare and present a 5-minute
presenta!on to their class. These are prac!cal
ac!vi!es that help in the learning process of a
par!cular topic.

A"endance and Tardiness: Students must be


present and on !me to online class.

Camera must be ON.

Class Par!cipa!on:40% of the semester grade


comes from par!cipa!on. This class is an ac!vity
class. Be on !me, get involved, and ask ques!ons.
BE A TEAM PLAYER. COOPERATE AND

CARE FOR YOUR CLASS MATES. Students


MUST BE ONLINE AND ACTIVE in order to
receive full points for par!cipa!on.

Missed Exams or Assignments:

Test dates will be announced no later than a week


prior. Any student that misses a test MUST bring
a note from either parent sta!ng precisely why
the child MISSED THE TEST. If you know that you
will be absent on a given test day, inform the
teacher immediately. When a student misses
class, he/she needs to contact the teacher or
students to obtain the assignments and their due
dates.

Extra Credit Work:

Complete all assignments and projects, prepare


well for class and the tests. Follow all the
sugges!ons for success and no extra credit will be
needed.

Grading:

Health Class is a one semester course. Each


quarter is worth 50% of the semester grade. The
values for each quarter are divided as follows:

Classroom Behavior:

which disrupts the learning process shall not be

/or removal from class. Laptop computers are not
needed nor allowed in class.

that are intended to gain an unearned academic
advantage by fraudulent or decep!ve means.
Chea!ng and plagiarism will not be tolerated.

Sugges!ons for Success: Pay a#en!on in class;


par!cipate in all hands-on work. Take notes, do
not lose handouts. Ask if you do not understand.
