Resources needed:
Prior to start the test make sure that all PPE & tools are available : pair of gloves suitable for electrical tasks, pair of safety shoes ; Tools (Torch, clamp metter,
screw driver, cutting plier, LOTO, Warning and insulation tape, Panel keys)
Supervisor as controller of the test and technicians to be chosen for the test.
Scenario:
A sudden power outage takes place in the facility. The client called the helpdesk to open a complaint without being able to describe the extent of the power
outage.

1 Has the technician identified the area that is affected? (partial area of the facility)
2 Has he identified & browsed the right DB to identify any breaker that tripped?MCB, MCCB or ELCB ?
If no breaker tripped, has he checked if current runs in the main incoming cable feeding the DB (with clamp

meter) and investigate any loose connection of breaker?
If current doesn't run in the main incoming cable, has he browsed the electrical panels upstream of

thefacility grid (SMDB, then MDB)?
5 If a breaker tripped (MCB, MCCB or ELCB), has he identified the equipment trigerring the trip?
If there was no way to resume power supply within few minutes, has the technician identified the critical

building services compromised by the power outage meanwhile the failure is being investigated & fixed?
8 If any critical building service compromised, has he informed the supervisor/engineer/facility manager?
9 If any critical building service compromised, has he checked proper operation of UPS?
