FELA’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Forum is an annual 3-day event which brings together
100 active high school student leaders and entrepreneurs from all over the national territory.
Participants are trained on various subjects and encouraged to become ethical entrepreneurial leaders
in the African continent.
Objective: The objective of the forum is to provide a platform to enhance their leadership and
Entrepreneurial skills, and to challenge them to embrace entrepreneurship and leadership activities in
their communities in a bid to contribute to social justice, and economic development of Africa in an
ethical manner.
Curriculum: The curriculum has been specially designed train youths in Cameroon to develop
Entrepreneurial skills, acquire concrete Leadership skills and develop positive professional abilities
needed to land their dream jobs, become entrepreneurs and impact their communities positively.
Certification: All Participants are awarded an attestation of participation forum signed by the Ministry
of Employment and Vocational Training, and FELA.
• Participants have the possibility of networking with other participants from other regions,
with government officials, and with facilitators/speakers.
Activities: Activities in this year’s forum will include trainings, roundtable discussions, excursions, a
job/career fair, a showcase of made in Cameroon products, and team building exercises.
The 2nd edition of the forum held in Buea from the 14th to the 16th of July 2016 and brought together
more than eighty youth from public and private high schools from the South West Regions. The theme
of the edition was “Youths employability for sustainable Economic development.” Activities during
the second edition included trainings by National employment fund, The South West Regional
The 3rd edition held under the theme, “Youth and Peace, Unity and Economic development of
Cameroon.” The forum held in Buea, from the 18th to the 19th of August 2017, in the heart of the
Socio-Economic unrest in the South West Region. The focus was on Peace, Unity and the economic
development of Cameroon. The over 100 participants were enjoined to foster peace in their
communities.
The 4th edition took place in Douala from 16th to the 18th of October 2019, under the auspices of the
Littoral Regional Delegate of Employment and Vocational Training. Due to the ongoing socio-
political crisis in the South West and North West Regions of Cameroon, the forum held for the first
time in Douala. The theme of the fourth edition was “Youth social entrepreneurship.” By the end of
the forum, the participants had been trained on pitching business ideas, public speaking, Community
Leadership, Team building, avoiding teenage pregnancies, and much more.
Social entrepreneurship is the use of the techniques by start- up companies and other entrepreneurs to
develop, fund and implement solutions to social, cultural, or environmental issues. Participants came
from four regions of the country.
The 5th edition of FELA’s entrepreneurial Leadership forum took place from the 31st July to the 2nd
of August 2019 in Douala, under the auspices of the Minister of Employment and Vocational Training.
The theme of this year’s forum was “Soft skills for sustainable youth Entrepreneurial Leadership.”
The event took place at FUNIC’s Campus at Fin Goudron Bangue , Kotto, Douala and was sponsored
by the British High Commission .The participants wrote susceptible 10 point Plans on how waste
management can be done in their communities.
PARTICIPATION
Selection into the program is based on involvement in community activities, leadership activities,
entrepreneurship activities and a strong desire to create impact.
The mission of FELA has always been to see and African Society where rare skills are found in
common people, and where no one leaves home because s/he is poor. The founding president of FELA
has always believed that this can only happen with a change of mentality. For this reason, FELA’s

IMPACT
The goal of the forum has always been to train youths who will create sustainable and ethical
impact in the communities. The impact so far has been encouraging.
• Youth training and skill development: From the first 4 edition this forum has been able to
train close to 400 hundred youths on Entrepreneurial Leadership, coupled with other subjects
such as peace, Economic Development of Africa, Employability, Social Entrepreneurship,
community leadership.
• Community impact: Two participants from the first and second editions have created
associations to promote youth entrepreneurship, leadership and volunteerism. These young
people have been able to impact hundreds of youths in five communities. Three other
participants from the third and fourth editions have developed their civil society organizations
that cater for children’s education, the environment, and girl child education.
• Business Start-up/development: Through the president’s banknote challenge students
received a single banknote of 10,000FCFA and started a small business. The first three
profitable businesses were awarded cash prizes ranging from 50,000FCFA to 150,000FCFA.
These young people have been able to grow their small businesses that are still sustainable.
The businesses included an award winning mobile GCE preparation app, foot ware, food
processing, paper recycling, and fashion design.
• Youth Education and Empowerment: Through the Entrepreneurial Leadership forum,
FELA has awarded scholarships of close to 10,000,000FCFA to more than 25 youths who have
studied for Higher education and vocational qualifications.
