Exercise 10 (page 77) Watch the three clips (1–3) from the TED talk. Match the
clips with the three parts (beginning, middle, end).

Look at these innovations to help people with disabilities. Choose one of them.
Write an outline for a presentation to describe a situation about people with
disabilities, the problem they face, and a possible solution for it.

Follow the example we saw before to know what to say at the beginning, the
middle and the end.

Work with a partner. Describe your outlines / plans for your presentations and
discuss.

Why did you choose to talk about this particular topic?

What is the situation, the problem, and the solution?

Give each other feedback on the ideas you have planned for each section to
see if they are relevant or not, or if they need to be expanded.

Before delivering your presentation, work with a partner and:

- Deliver a 2-3-minute presentation (time each other)


- Take notes about the ideas and language you listen in your partner’s presentation
- Give feedback to your partner about the following:
- *Clarity of ideas
- *Accurate language (including the useful language we saw)
- *Pronunciation (intelligible, use of intonation and stress to emphasize)
- *Pace (were they speaking too fast or too slow? Does it sound like they’re reading?
- *Length of the presentation (was it too long or too short?)

Use your partner’s feedback to make changes and improvements to your
presentation.

Record your presentation (2-3 minutes) (vocaroo.com or your cell phone).

Share the link or file with the teacher.

Remember to use some of the phrases and expressions we saw today, and
organize your ideas in a clear beginning, middle and end.
