YZ Parameters Calculation

Aim:
To calculate the Z and Y parameters of the two port network.

Procedure:
I. Open Circuit Parameter(Z):
Procedure for Calculation of Open Circuit Parameter Z Parameters:
1. Connect the voltage source at V1 and kept open to V2. The I2 will become zero,
measure V1, V2 and I1 using Voltmeters and Ammeters. Calculate Z11 and Z21.

2. Connect the voltage source at V2 and kept open to V1. The I1 will become zero,
measure V1, V2 and I2 using Voltmeters and Ammeters. Calculate Z12 and Z22.

2. Short Circuit Parameter(Y):

Procedure for Calculation of Short Circuit Parameter Y Parameters:
1. Connect the voltage source at V1 and kept short to V2. The V2 will become zero,
measure V1, I1 and I2 using Voltmeters and Ammeters. Calculate Y11 and Y21.

2. Connect the voltage source at V2 and kept short to V1. The V1 will become zero,
measure V2, I1 and I2 using Voltmeters and Ammeters. Calculate Y12 and Y22.

Y Matrix values:

Part 1:
Design the circuit and take the appropriate values of R, L, C and Voltage Source, then fill the
table of Apparatus/Elements used according to the circuit designed and calculate Y and Z
parameters theoretically. Submit the circuit designed, Apparatus Table and the results and
calculation of Y Z Parameters.

Part 2:
Simulate the circuit using PSIM/Simulation software and fill the observation table. Calculate
Y and Z Parameters. Submit the screenshot of the circuit and simulation results in a pdf file
with the observation table and the results of Y Z Parameters.
