I had my interview with Ma'am Gilene Gundran on February 23, 2022, at exactly 4:30 p.m. in
Ariston West, Asingan, Pangasinan. She allowed me to address her as "ate" or "ma'am" throughout the
interview as part of respect. I began my interview by introducing myself and explaining why I was conducting
it. I was worried during my interview, yet I was still able to ask the questions I had prepared. It was exciting
because I was interested to see how Ma'am Gilene would respond to my inquiries. She became one of the
owners of the well-known Pares De Calle, which is located in our barangay, when she was 30 years old. During
the epidemic, she and her friends were brainstorming ideas for a business they could run and put their expertise
to. She firmly said that she is capable of preparing a variety of foods as well as desserts. They worked together
to open a restaurant called Pares De Calle with the help of her friends and supportive family.
I moved on to my major goal in doing this interview after the initial introduction. I explained
to her the topic of environmental stewardship, which is concerned with the responsible use and protection of the
natural environment through conservation and sustainable practices in order to improve ecosystem resilience
and human well-being, as described in the module. She immediately stated without hesitation that she was
aware of this principle, which is essential in the establishment of a business. According to ma'am Gilene, she
and her friends mainly discussed it while deciding on the location of their business, which is near the farm and
surrounded by numerous trees, perhaps eco-friendly. She also mentioned that she has seen that some of her
competitors are not using this approach in their businesses. They are primarily concerned with obtaining money,
despite the fact that mother nature is frequently affected. She frequently observes that many businesses continue
to use plastics, that many businesses use excessive amounts of electricity, that many businesses cut trees in
order to build their establishment on the desired location, and that a great deal of waste accumulates, all of
which are harmful to the environment. As sustainable and environment people, she and her friends discussed
establishing a company in the purportedly woodland ambience, where fresh air can be enjoyed and the beauty of
nature can be seen. Furthermore, they frequently utilize ceramic utensils to reduce the amount of plastic cups,
utensils, and plates that are discarded. Similarly, when it comes to energy conversion. To save energy, they use
incandescent lighting and only switch it on between the hours of 5 and 10 p.m. to avoid wasting available
electricity. They always sort their waste into biodegradable and non-biodegradable categories while collecting
it. Their non-biodegradable waste is collected in a sack and separated in the barangay, while biodegradable
waste is composted to fertilize the land. And that's not all; she went on to say that they don't take down the trees
around their shop, but rather prune them so that they don't damage or interfere with other customers. Their
company also urges everyone to plant trees around us and in bare nature to preserve the beauty and ensure that
the animals, as well as we people who breathe fresh air, have a home.
for taking the time and patience to answer my questions about environmental stewardship. I was given the
opportunity to eat at their food business and taste their pride pares as part of my conducted interview. I'll never
forget how friendly these individuals are and how tasty their cuisine is. To conclude my report, I would like to
invite you all to dine at the Pares De Calle, an environmentally friendly restaurant.
