Subject: Troubleshooting when suddenly appeared engine vibrations observed

Your ref.: 22/GEAC/001

Date: January 31, 2022

Dear Valued Customers,

The purpose of this All-Operator’s Wire is to emphasize the importance of respecting the Engine
Maintenance Manual (EMM) troubleshooting when suddenly appeared unusual engine
vibrations observed in operation.

An event reported and is being investigated on a M601 series engine which resulted from
continued engine operation with increased engine vibrations. Not conducted troubleshooting
and correction before next flight has resulted in the engine damage followed by In Flight Shut
Down (IFSD) and emergency landing.

Following M601 and H-series Engine Maintenance Manual (EMM), for suddenly increased
engine vibrations (compared to the previous flights) we recommend troubleshooting and
correct the failure prior to next engine start, refer to Fig. 1 for an example of H-series EMM No.
0983402 troubleshooting sequence.
Continued operation with unusual engine vibration, not corrected prior to next flight, may result
in serious engine damage or IFSD.

GEAC will be available if you have any comments or concerns, please contact our Commercial
Service Team at tp.ops@ge.com.

Sincerely,
Turboprop Operations Team
