Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan in Teaching Mathematics Grade 9

Date/Day: _________________
Section: ___________________
Time: _____________________
I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
 Solve and identify inverse variation;
 determine the inverse variation of a given table; and
 easily answer any given equation through working by pair.

II. Subject Matter:

Topic: Inverse Variation
Materials: Visual Aids, PowerPoint Presentation, Illustration Boards
Reference: K to 12 Learners Material Grade 9 pp. 56 - 62
Strategies: Inductive Method, Think – Pair – Share

III. Development of Lesson:

A. Preliminary Activities
- Prayer
- Greetings
- Checking of Attendance
- Drill (Integers )
B. Review/ Checking of Assignment
Ask somebody to recite the Direct Variation.
C. Motivation
“Where Am I Belong” – Students will place each number given by the teacher to the
respective column in where these numbers belong.
D. Lesson Proper
- Define Inverse Variation.
- Let them identify and determine the equation about inverse variation.
- Explain the inverse variation using a situation prouces pairs of numbers whose
product are constant.
- Give examples representing each inverse variation.
E. Application
Do the “Think – Pair – Share” – the representative pair in every group will think and
share ideas on how to determine the inverse variation.
F. Generalization
How to determine the equation of inverse variation?

IV.Evaluation:
Activity 13. Think Deeper
1. At 60 kilometers per hour it takes Loida 10 hours to travel from her to their
house in the province. How long it will take her if she travels at 80 km and hour?
V. Assignment:
