1. Did literature work on the different processes like


evaporation, drying, water treatment, pH correction system,
distillation, etc.
2. Studied on the ongoing process of evaporation in which multi
effect evaporation system is to be used for concentrating the
glycerin and sodium sulfate.
3. Referred different reference books and studied different
problem statements and case studies for water treatment
past and ongoing projects.
4. Studied steam table and referred Perry’s handbook and
Richardson and Coulson for the industrial project case
studies.

1. Gained deep knowledge on evaporation system, different


types of evaporators their application for different processes,
different types feed allotment system that for the respective
process which type of feed system should be allotted.

respective projects.

and importance in the process.

1. Worked on the designing of Heat Exchanger.

2. Done literature work for the designing of heat exchanger and


referred different books like S.B. Thakor, D.Q. kern, Coulson
& Richardson.
3. Done hand written calculations for finding different measures
of heat exchanger like heat transfer area, coefficient (tube
side, shell side and overall), no. of tubes, heat duty, etc.
4. Selection of materials of construction of shell and tubes in the
most economical way.
5. Selected type of baffles, expansion joints, nozzle orientations,
etc.

1. Designed a heat exchanger by studying different cases.

Institute.)

1. Worked on HTRI for simulation purpose for the designing of a


heat exchanger.
2. For the simulation of heat exchanger, I referred the book
Richardson & Coulson for the data.
3. I primarily did hand written design calculations for heat
exchanger and then worked on the HTRI for the simulation.
4. The mentor provided us the industrial cases of the past
projects of heat exchangers where the problems like shell side
pressure drop increase, fouling, etc. which were to be
corrected and treated for consistent heat treansfer.

1. Designed a heat exchanger with both reference book’s data


and industrial projects.
2. Dealt with few problems arriving in the heat exchanger.

1. Did research and literature work on evaporation effects on


evaporation, parameters that affect on evaporation, chemical
evaporation, etc.
2. Gained knowledge on effect on interfacial tension on bubble
formation, classification on natural circulation and forced
circulation evaporators their construction, working and
applications, effect of hydrostatic pressure on evaporation
system.
3. Did designing calculations for the designing of a single effect
evaporator including mass and energy balance and determing
the heat transfer area from the data obtained from numericals
in D.Q Kern.
4. Designed an evaporator successfully from the data provided
from the ongoing projects.

1. In this week, we did the whole designing of the Multi Evaporator


System.
2. The overall material balance, boilup rates and individual material
balances on the evaporator.
3. Finding out boiling point elevations and overall temperature drops.

4. Studying of effect of temperature and enthalpies.

5. Calculation of the overall enthalpies balances.

6. Compute effect heat duties and required heat transfer areas.
